I think it depends on your definition of ‘best’ footballer. Of those I’ve seen live: Most effective? Shearer. Talent on the ball? Tugay. My dad says ‘Douglas wipes the floor with both’.

I’m not mourning Hogan because he was an arsehole. I’m mourning the bit of my childhood that has gone. Remember my dad watching Smackdown with me once in 2003 and a Piper’s Pit segment came on. My dad liked Roddy Piper so started paying attention, apparently someone called Mr America was going to debut. Then Hogan’s old music hit (unbeknownst to me) and my then 59yo dad ‘popped’ like an absolute child 🤣
