  1. I quite like Rangers and Celtic. Jim Baxter and Jimmy Johnstone being early reasons.
  2. It was, same deadline as Conway plus Mowbray issued a sort of warning to both to make their minds up. Conway did and left.
  3. Looks like an advert for Incontinence Pads that don't work too good
  4. Not what I meant or said. Raya became the only viable keeper option.
  5. Nothing to do with the other shite keepers we had at that time?
  6. Mowbray brought no staff with him apart from Venus and those were the terms. He took on all that still remained at Ewood, Lowe and Benson the most well known.
  7. Yes, I also thought Raya was getting better until Rodriguez deliberately kicked him in the head. He was rushed back too quickly because we had no decent cover on the books that our manager would trust.
  8. We have just sold a keeper who has regressed, see Mowbray comments. This in itself makes the GK coach fair game
  9. Moving on is great for Rayas career. He was pushed on far too quickly at Rovers but that was forced due to the other keepers we had being shite. Last season after a kick in the head he was rushed back in far too quickly. Mowbray comments at the time: "The players were feeling sick with what they saw," said the Rovers boss. "He is in hospital. The bone at the top has been pushed into the skull almost and the nose is sort of hanging off really." "The players could not look at it, it was that bad." Then Mowbray basically starts a process to force him out by calling him out in Public, dropping him for a keeper who only a few months previously was not considered good enough to be used to let Raya recover from injury, and then opening wants another keeper. Of course Raya would want out, so would any player with a bit of spunk. I'm firmly in the camp that Raya was always an accident waiting to happen so not sorry to see him go as Rovers are not equipped at manager or coaching level to improve him any time soon. I hope he thrives at Brentford and will follow his career with interest.
  10. Mercer makes a very valid point but does overdo it. The only reason Benson is first team keeper coach is that it was part of the deal Mowbray accepted when Mowbray took the job. Rovers did it on the cheap by internal promotion and nothing to do with Benson's ability or experience, he was just in the right or wrong place at the right or wrong time, depending on your point of view.
  11. Got a Link, first time I have seen that suggestion.
  12. Whomever it is the sooner the better so they can build a rapport with our defenders well before the real business begins.
  13. Charlie Adam: much as I like Adam as a quality footballer I can't see his temperament and tendency to speak out on what bugs him being something Mowbray wants to take on, The easy life is much more acceptable, to some.
  14. I think Barrow AFC will have some on their Youtube account today/tomorrow. Meanwhile:
  15. Which is still a fair amount of time in Football and especially in a Window.
  16. Dann is also a very successful private investor into start-ups, venture capital plus the usual. Completely minted and I admire him for that. If his laptop cable can strech back to Ewood we could do OK, maybe he could play for us again too.
  17. Since I posted I've now seen Mowbray's comments in the LT. "Its only Football" buck-passing by Mowbray. IMO
  18. I see that there is a rumour that Raya wanted out. Is there any reputable Link to a quote from anyone at Rovers saying this. Rovers have been good at this since the early Venky days, passing the buck to the player that is. I don't blame Raya if he did, playing behind a Mowbray organised defence must be soul destroying. Plus being panned in Public by his Manager. Brentford meanwhile sees something in Raya and the need for protecting him or any goalie for that matter by going for Jansson.
  19. Commentary is on live at Radio Lonsdale http://radio-lonsdale.co.uk/show/sportzone-with-adam-johnson/
  20. Brentford has the goalkeeper coaching structure to give it a crack, we don't
