  1. And yet he made 42 appearances in what was our best season since relegation. And since we’ve not been playing him we are plummeting like a stone. To say awful is pure hyperbole.
  2. Because he's clever in interviews. See the bus comments. Also, Tomasson was almost mocking of Waggots "our aim is to survive" at the start of the season. Saying along the lines of that may be his aim but we are more ambitious. However he now uses it as "everyone knows our aim is to survive" now that we are doing shite. So knowing that this wouldn't be a popular move, I dont think it's unreasonable to think that he's stretching the truth in his quotes. Even if they are true, as the club captain will be returning to Ewood in he summer (with or without JDT in situ) it's a bit unprofessional to come out and say it. But you are correct I don't know for sure. And in true Rovers style, get ready for the inevitable Tronstadt injury in January.
  3. This. Alarm bells are clanging everywhere. I suspect we will be weaker by the end of January, and then weaker again but filled with potential by September.
  4. Clever soundbite from JDT there.
  5. If Tronstadt and Wharton are so much better, why are we in such a shit run of form and look wide open a lot of the time? I've said for a few weeks that Travis reading of the game is better than those two. There's more to playing midfield than being able to 'take a ball on the half turn'. Travis wasn't a major issue for our 'style of football' last year. It was our lack of goals towards the end of the season which cost us.
  6. So they were aware, but for all of yesterday afternoon and evening their lead story on the website was this - https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/january/03/digital-day-comes-to-ewood-for-cup-fixture-/ which told people the opposite. Fair play for speaking to them, but practically every decision looks like it’s made by a bunch of fucking imbeciles. And Waggots comments on the displays and the legends nights show that the leaders have no idea what’s going on. edit - just seen this entire point is made on the ‘other’ thread about this PR disaster.
  7. I've read it but it is so badly worded I can't understand it.
  8. I didn’t say buy a ticket on the day digitally. I said people who go to the ticket office and buy or collect tickets on the matchday would be excluded. That was the point I made. You then said you would get a ticket on the day and that you would “quite possibly” buy it from the ticket office or collect it. Currently you won’t as it’s not possible. If they do make a u-turn tomorrow then they’re even dumber than we thought, as all evening they’ve had it as their lead story indicating there are no ‘walk-up’ sales.
  9. that’s the whole point. You won’t. You can’t.
  10. Will you go down and buy or collect your ticket from the ticket office as hundreds do on a matchday?
  11. Except for those people who go down and buy their ticket on matchday, because they aren’t welcome to this game.
  12. So basically:- Pictures - shouldn’t have happened. The club I run is a shambles. Liverpool legends - shouldn’t have happened. The club I run is a shambles. Was digital day mentioned? Let me guess. Shouldn’t have happened. The club …………….
  13. Agree but point being with Travis in there we didn’t look as open early season. He probably does the generally unnoticed stuff (basic positioning and reading the situation) better than ST and AW
  14. We werent as consistently wide open early season as we have been since the Sheff Wednesday game at the start of December. It’s wierd that Tronstad and Wharton do seem to individually be performing better than the rest, but in many games (Wednesday, Leeds, Watford 2nd half, Huddersfield) we’ve just been up against wave after wave of attacks.
  15. I'm going to fully embrace digital day. I'll watch it at home on my iPad.
  16. Doesn't really matter. Even Chaddy now knows a one-footed Pears is better than Leo.
  17. We went in the Blues Bar straight after the Preston game at 2.30pm. They rang ‘last orders’ and turned the TV’s off at 3.30pm. It was still busy.
  18. Szmodics was knackered for that last 20 minutes. In the minutes before the equaliser he couldn’t close down and lost the ball a couple of times. We talk about tiredness and fatigue. He should have been taken off. How we end up looking completely leggy at the end (as against Preston and Watford) and yet Garrett and Travis don’t get on is baffling.
  19. Sigurdsson offers a bit of a goal threat, which is a good job because he looks a bit of a nothing footballer. No pace. No trickery. No great vision. No work rate. Shame because when he signed he looked a bit of a coup on paper.
  20. And didn’t cost them £800k
  21. Against a side with a smaller budget than ours, no category A academy and 7 senior players missing.
  22. I'll tell you the difference. Pears can go a couple of games being ok and then throw in stinker. It's practically every game with Leo. He's just so bad.
