Bollocks. He wasn’t a premier league striker but was always a handful at this level.
-
At this level I’d swap Blake for a Gally in a heartbeat.
-
I'm guessing a few travel with the first team even if they aren't on the bench incase there's a couple of late injuries.

Half Time team talk :- "Come on lads, it's Tottenham"
-
To be fair they haven’t been playing well for a long while and haven’t really been in the top 6 during 2023. To bottle it you’d have to look like you were more than likely to be in the top 6 come May and then fail. I’d say only us and Millwall could ‘bottle it’.

3-1 🤪

Hull manager Liam Rosenior remained tight-lipped over which players may miss the televised evening kick-off at Ewood Park but admits his squad is becoming increasingly stretched. “We’ve got a few extra ones (injuries), which is unfortunate,” said the boss. “I don’t want to give anything away at this stage because we’re still waiting to see if they’ll be fit for the game on Saturday. I’m not going to lie, we’re down to the bare bones. “We’ve got a three-game week coming up so I need to be really careful with the squad. At the moment, we’ve had a few extra ones that weren’t expected from the game against Millwall. They’re not long term but they could be doubts for possibly the next two games – Saturday and Wednesday (at Middlesbrough). “It’s not ideal with the injury record we’ve got and the players we’re already missing. I know whatever team we put out will compete, fight and play good football, and that’s all I’m looking for.”

One of my season-ticket holding companions will only have attended 4 of the home games in 2023 due to moves. Great for my other mates who get the freebie, not for the lad forking out £400+ Funnily enough, nobody is interested in coming for free at 8pm on a Saturday night. I think it will be a very poorly attended game on Saturday - almost like one of those midweek fixtures where half the season ticket holders seem to be missing.
-
He doesn’t say that we can’t. He just believes we won’t, which I think is where many of us are. No-one is saying it’s not possible.
-
Let's be honest. It's just the reserves in all but name, except for it now makes sure that youth players get a chance. If it was completely under-21's how else are the lads who perennially sit on the bench going to get any game time unless we bring in 'older' reserve fixtures.

Let’s sell the 4500 out first before we start going all Dingley about it. -
Sheff United still have West Brom and Preston to play. Keeps them in the mix and honest. 2-0 Pub defending.

I know a couple of groups waiting for open sale on Thursday. There will be a big surge on sales once it gets there. -

@arbitro Just curious when you reffed how did you calculate added time? I always envisage that if a player is down injured you see how long it takes and if it’s 3 minutes before play resumed you add 3 minutes on. If another injury is 2 minutes you add another 2 on. But that clearly doesn’t happen in most games and absolutely not today. Was there any science to it, or did you just add on what felt right compared to what was added on in most games at the time? Not a trick question or a whinge, just want to understand the mentality of how the number of added minutes is come to. Also, we clearly scored bang as the announcement for 5 added minutes was announced. However the ref blows full time about 3 seconds over 5 minutes. As the goal is in injury time surely some time is added on? This is one of my biggest gripes. Time wasting is clearly beneficial to teams because as much as refs look at their watch, the amount wasted is rarely added on. The World Cup was actually excellent for combating this. -
I was going to do a full reply but I thought what’s the point as I’d be making the same points I made in my post above. Morton - 28 starts Wharton - 7 starts. 2 exceptional performances. That’s why they get treated differently. It’s not double standards. If Wharton had played all season and cost us numerous goals with sloppy passing, and was still playing poorly but repeatedly getting picked, he would be getting the same stick Morton gets.
-
Morton has started 28 league games this season compared to Morton’s 7. In those 7 games he’s been MOTM against Blackpool and arguably at Hull. Morton has, as far as I’m aware, not put in a performance of that quality. He’s also been pretty bad some games and been responsible for a number of goals through stupidity. Early on in the season there were very, very few comments about him starting, but as we’ve seen him play more and more it has become obvious he isn’t good enough. Wharton, on the other hand, looks like he may be pretty good. Therefore, as one is proven poor and one isn’t, it’s pretty logical that Morton is now being picked up on every bad point he does as we’ve had a full season of it. It’s not really double standard. Back to the match thread, I’m not collecting a dossier. I just thought it a really odd comment during a match that instead of commenting on how bad the corner was (which would have been fair) you posted “Shite corner from Wharton. Would love to see the reaction if Morton had taken that.” which is a pop at people criticising Morton. Strange behaviour. But then I now see a few pages back you said ”Exactly, he’s fucking 18, he’s not going to magically change our season. Get that in your head. The bollocks talked about Wharton is insane, he’s getting better by not playing, purely in peoples heads. If he wasn’t a Rovers fan no one would care he wasn’t been picked for having a shit attitude.” And before that there’s plenty of other “Wharton isn’t the answer” posts from you. And thus you can’t accept you were wrong and he actually had a positive impact today despite most other peoples views backing this up, hence the need to try and put him down both through the match and after..
-
Could do with a winner either way in this game. Boro have Norwich, Luton and Coventry to play so you want them either chasing 2nd, or closer to us.
-
Only just reading this thread. That was one of the most nailed-on penalties you could see that Coventry didn’t get.
-
You commented as much a couple of times on the match thread. Not sure if you are anti-Wharton or pro-Morton, but I’ve already spotted you as having an issue on this. Morton doesn’t put performances in like that as he doesn’t have the ability or vision to turn forwards with his first touch or play quick accurate balls into feet. Morton did, however, benefit from having players infront of him today who could do that so he didn’t have to. That way he could mop up and move it about out the back. He was also ok today and put a great ball in for the goal, but did pull out of 50/50 which was crucial which left them on one of their only dangerous breaks of the second half. And before you comment, both took rubbish corners in that game. It’s a common problem with Rovers. Even the much-touted Thomas can’t really take them.

Not a chance. I’d be more hoping Luton were guaranteed top 6 and no better and they only half turn up. -

Agree. And even if he was a boy it should be his parents that teach him about life choices and repercussions. That shouldn’t be Ty’s job. -

What? That it feels like a defeat? Im just explaining why a point is, err, pointless.
