  1. For me, it's like Bush and Blair with the Iraq war. They need a proper plan and to have thought through (at least a few of)the next steps etc.
  2. Needlessly. indeed. If the owners wanted to deliberately relegate the club in 2012, they could hardly have acted differently. Same again in 2016...
  3. Yes, I think that bird has flown. Bournemouth, QPR, Derby, Villa, Sheff Wed etc.
  4. Hmmm...I am sure he is in a bit of a crisis. No shame in tears, as far as I am concerned. He is certainly visibly lacking in confidence. At the moment, he looks shit, I know, but booing aint going to help one bit.
  5. And what was his reply?.."Snap!"
  6. Oh, I agree with your last sentence. If we were a normal club and used some of the fee to get a "no-nonsense" replacement to play alongside Tosin, it might be ok for this season. I guess I haven't got that deep belief in Lenihan.
  7. This may be the day that the Ewood crowd finally turns!
  8. Not on a wind- up, but is Lenihan really that good and how reliable is his fitness?
  9. I really hope you are right and it is only strategy, but....
  10. No treasure chest lol. In all our seasons in the Championship, since the take-over disaster, we have only made even the top 10 twice- with 8th and 9th finishes (2014 and 2015) The other Championship finishes have been 15th (twice),17th and 22nd(relegated). There is no ambition with these"ever so humble" owners...and, it seems, no point. Compare this to our valiant attempts in the 70's and 80's... FOV...
  11. It is like he has bought expensive whiskey and is pouring it straight down the toilet. cutting out the middle man
  12. Agreed. I would almost say their choice of managers has shown the premiership was being avoided.. Actually leaving Kean in post in the summer of 2011 spoke absolute volumes. Then, to do it again in 2012 screamed it from the rooftops. The manager appointments since then have wreaked of no on-field ambition. The Coyle appointment was pure Venky's self-parody. As ever, it comes down to that unanswered question. Why are they here?
  13. ...not to mention "fees" paid for Samuel, Whittingham, Chapman, Caddis etc
  14. No-one..I don't even care whether he lives or dies. I was just wondering how/why a local lad could allow himself do that chicken celebration..
  15. Enjoyed that. Well done. 10 years of self-inflicted decline. So needless!
  16. Ian McShane was in the Nuttall St stand that day, getting lots of celebrity attention. His dad had played for Rovers, as well as Man Utd. Ian may even have been born in Blackburn
  17. Yes, credit where it is due, all right. And didn't he have a strong squad to pick from!. So-so much better than the current one. To think we were only in a playoff position for a couple of hours or something!
  18. The Bowyer tenure was a significant wasted opportunity. What an experienced manager might have achieved with those resources!
  19. I was angry at last year's January window flop and the Brentford game and its injuries rubbed salt into the wound. I don't know what to think at the moment. A really dreadful run, followed by some good results with the Bristol game the icing on the cake. Then a thoroughly dispiriting 3 games. Now, I think we are being "softened up" for a repeat of last January, when the squad is a bit of a mess. putting it mildly. Too much dead wood, soaking up wages. The forward line is impotent and we have little or no tempo. Far too easy to play against. We know about the defence and now we have lost our main goal scorer and creator. I think it would take a helluva lot to make us into genuine contenders. Do I see the owners investing enough to make that difference? You know the answer to that!
  20. I just thought he was a ****!
  21. I still recall the affronted look on the face of my youngest, when Garner-a local lad- did that chicken celebration in front of the Blackburn End. Was he a Burnley fan, growing up?
  22. I have a season ticket, but I can never trust them. For me it is like the old tale of the scorpion, being carried across the water on the rabbit's back. I do admit the conflicted nature of my condition!
  23. Yep. Totally unforgivable. F.O.V.
