  1. That's the same with so many incidents in a match to be fair. Many is the time that people have given me new detail the following day at work about a game I was at the previous evening. A long time ago, one of mine cried, when he got home and saw a recording of the infamous Diouf penalty incident in the Darwen End. Oh the injustice!
  2. Me too. Awful for 80 minutes, but there is something really satisfying, nay uplifting about seeing a Rovers team, willing to scrap for every single ball, backed by a raucous following and winnning right at the death.
  3. The most successful town football club in British history no less...
  4. I think that was the case though. My guess is that the wages on his last one were modified and part of the sweetener was the tangible prospect of another? Always a risk, give his age...but so far, so good...,(we are only in the first month of it lol)
  5. I agree re Conway...possibly Evans. But Bennett certainly seemed worth a new contract...and Graham's latest one seemed to be a condition of his previous one..i.e. after so many starts or something.
  6. And how long can they capitalise on the fact that fans of a former premier league club are just grateful not to have a manager, who is a **** with a team of mercenary ****s, who got us relegated to Div 3?
  7. What worries me is that such a policy could just see us hovering around 10th place or lower, season after season, having to start again every August, as good loan players return to their parent clubs, our older players get older/slower and the likes of Dack get sold. When is a good time to build on what we have, rather than merely stand still, consolidate (stagnate)? In this context the money splurged on Brereton defies credibility... We have a good nucleus around which to build and we should be doing it now...
  8. Don't know about previous allusions to the way he left, but I would have misgivings...
  9. I have been present in a couple of different situations, where Mr Waggott was challenged very strongly-but politely-about this. My own sense -opinion, for what it is worth,-was that he had made a public noise and was now finding it difficult to climb down. I would look out for it being removed for a one off game, perhaps, as one rung step down.... The fans' message has been loud, clear and consistent.
  10. Subtle would have been to send people scurrying to google by calling him Charles V1
  11. He comes across very well every time I hear him. He also says he knows how footballers think and this certainly seems to include the young turks like Dack!
  12. He came over very well. Outraged voice of reason but understated somehow, Good bloke!
