  1. Edit: RoryRoversIreland beat me to it. https://x.com/mcgrathmike/status/1752636583579144541?s=20
  2. The ‘we’ll spend it in the summer’ crew are going to make me lose the plot.
  3. Yep. "You know how you can't get any funds across til the summer? Well guess what I've managed to do..." I'll be firmly in the minority, but I'd much prefer this transfer goes tits up and the club goes into administration.
  4. I just had a short exchange with someone at the club and he basically said they’ve no clue what they’ll be allowed to spend of the Wharton money. With circa 50 hours of the window left, that is hugely unsurprising, but still extremely alarming.
  5. And that's just for British based players! I genuinely cannot see our tin pot administration being able to bring in a chap from the states with 50(ish?) hours of the window remaining.
  6. There will need to have been a huge change in stance from Venky's if we're bringing in Liam Cooper. Resale value or loans only was the "brief" in the summer. Edit: I see above that it may be a loan. If Phillips has chosen Cardiff ahead of us, then that really is a sign of the times - especially given our location advantage.
  7. Not a chance Palace spend that kind of money and then loan them out. He'll be in the side/squad.
  8. It does feel a bit Duff-esque. No doubt that there will be some who will be delighted with this news, "this will allow us to strengthen the squad", "we can bring in 4-5 quality players with that money". It will never happen under this lot. IMO he's going solely because we've got a massive hole to plug over the coming months due to the funding deferral.
  9. "If all goes to plan". Ha. Welcome to Venky's world, Duncan.
  10. I said it the other day, but Olise is a shoe in for a huge move. Eze v likely too. That's their last two signings from the Champ. Wharton will likely go the same way if he keeps his head down in the capital.
  11. Good win in the end, and like most, delighted to shut that lot up. I personally doubt that we’ll back this up in the league, but would love to be proved wrong. Anyway, at least we can enjoy tonights win for a few days and another cup run.
  12. Indeed. Huddersfield just sacked a manager for winning 3 in 23, yet very recently he just claimed 4 points against us!!! We are absolutely fucking useless and I’m thinking more and more that we’re going to drop this season. I simply cannot see where a league win is coming from again. Just as I type this, Sammie scores. Just where would we be without him?!
  13. I reckon one of them would be easier to patch up than these fucking morons.
  14. It’s just rinse and repeat isn’t it? Same old shite, different day. We are so, so fragile.
  15. As one or two others have said, I’d imagine if Chelsea sign him he’d be back out on loan (us hopefully) for at least the next six months. He had a fantastic game against them in the Cup - I sat with a couple of Chelsea mates and they were so impressed.
  16. Very quietly surprised we may get Phillips over the line. He’ll be top quality at this level. That said, I’m not changing my stance from the other day; I can’t get excited about any signings until that lot have buggered off.
  17. Indeed, what a show. Genuinely the first time I’ve been on the edge of my seat watching a programme. The last ten mins or so was just fabulous.
  18. Pete OR can be hit and miss with Rovers, but he gets many before the likes of the LT reporter. Chances are that they are back in for him.
  19. "The club"?! Don't be silly. "Their baby" more like. The only statement I ever want to see/hear from them is that they are f*cking off.
  20. I'd wager it will be Wharton out and some untested kid brought in either very cheap or via ANOTHER loan. League One is impending this season or next unless the club is taken from them - make no mistake.
  21. This is it. Whilst I'm sure Palace wouldn't be his #1 choice, he only needs to look at Olise and Eze to see that it can be a great move. Those two will be at a big six club within the next 1 year - 18 months (indeed Olise should have been there in the summer, but chose to stay at Palace).
  22. They were still actively looking at him as of a month or so ago. I'm sure they can wangle it if they really wanted to via their Saudi feeder club income(!).
  23. Surely Palace would hang fire on this with Woy under serious pressure.
  24. I know through a contact that the Newcastle interest is 100% genuine. Whether they actually bid for him in this window, we'll have to wait and see.
