  1. Depends on if the owners can be bothered or not. Back JDT, get a couple of good strikers and a hard bastard midfielder in we could go up. Cut funding to the bone where we can only loan some crap teenager from Liverpool and a 35 year old freebie last seen on Blackpool beach, then a relegation scare.
  2. I don't remember where I read it, but a Chelsea fan posted they're thankful Potter saved them from relegation. I hope JDT stays as I can see Lampard getting a big contract here if he goes.
  3. I am not an attendee of live matches sadly, but speaking as a season ticket holder of Coventry Rugby Club for the past few years, I'd be annoyed if they moved a lot of games to weird times like 6pm on a Thursday, as I'll be at work then. There's the odd game at home at 7.45pm, but it is literally once or twice. If I was a season ticket holder at Ewood Park, and about 10 games were on unusual times like Mid day on Sunday followed by a mid week evening game. I'd be a bit miffed.
  4. I'll miss it all because I will be at work. Bum. My prediction is that we'll be in 6th place at some time in the first half for 5 minutes, and then it will just fade away.
  5. Lampard has been like an FM player who takes over a club they dislike just to ruin them. In fact, it seems the new owners are like that too, in that they are like if you went into the data editor and gave them the worst judgement and loads of money. I haven't played football manager since about 2011, so the references are probably a bit out dated.
  6. I was expecting to be closer to relegation than the play offs at the beginning of the season, so to be in with a play off chance is obviously better. As someone else pointed out, our forward line is pretty crap, and Brereton has given up. So what more can JDT do when he came in late, and has had to work with twonks like the Raos, Waggott and Sylvester? A manager or head coach can only do so much when those at the top are disinterested and stupid. Mowbray was given 5 years to do very little, yet a few seem fairly happy to trust the owners and Waggott to bin someone after 1 season and find someone better. The same people who thought Coyle, Kean and Appleton were the right guys to manage the club. The same people who starved the budget to such an extent that we once had a squad with Chris Brown, Nathan Delfonso, Danny Guthrie and an aging Wes Brown not so long after Rhodes and Gestede were playing well.
  7. If we start seeing young Arnold Schwarzeneggers and Robert Patricks in the streets it will be too late! Maybe it's my latent paranoia, but I do wonder where this is going. I can see some future Paul Goebbels type creating fake news with fictional speeches given by AI avatars of opposition figures making them look bad. I can't even find a new mobile phone without that finger print/facial recognition tech built in. I don't want that sort of thing thank you.
  8. I'd love Spurs have a complete brain fart appointment in the style of Kinnear managing Newcastle. Obviously Owen Could, Steve Kean or Steve Bruce would be unrealistic, but someone who is a Premier League equivalent would be hilarious.
  9. We'll be smashed, and if they can, they'll officially win the division at Ewood Park. Then there will be some fighting amongst the crowd. I can't see anything other than a worst case scenario.
  10. Bastard. That's all I can say about the result. We went half a season without a draw, and now it's all we're getting.
  11. He's done pretty well considering he's working for Venkys, and was a bit late in being appointed. The lack of a decent striker is what has crippled us the most. Better than Mowbray? Probably. We'd be nowhere near the play offs by now, and be in a run of 1 win in the last 15 games if Tony was still here.
  12. I had a Coachella stream suggested on YouTube this weekend,so I had a look to see what was apparently cool and what 'modern' music is like outside of the ubiquitous stuff like Ed Sheeran. Yeah........ I've reached that age. A guy called Metro Man or something mumbling in a sticato rhythm and then shouting "gang, N-word" several times wasn't my sort of thing. Nor were a group of Korean clone women singing the most polished, packaged and precise bubblegum pop I've heard in years. The Chemical Brothers were there, so I watched that instead.
  13. Time to bin him, not even use him as a sub for a game or two. His head has already gone and he's mentally made the move to his next club. It's not like he's scoring much in the last few months.
  14. Like many others, I can only see a loss. Whoever is responsible for not getting a striker in massively screwed up.
  15. Looking at the BBC text, it seems that we're spending too much time keeping possession and need to add more purpose to attacking.
  16. It's now a quiet, understated incompetence and not the world's biggest clown show it was during the first few years. I hope we get promoted despite their wishes, and then get sold in the Premier League.
  17. You're right about how long it has been. I grew up in Bedfordshire in the 90s and 2000s, and a former owner was giving it large saying they were going to build a stadium off a junction of the M1 then.
  18. Lampard is a pretty poor manager full stop. He almost definitely won't get them into a European place, improve the players or do much better than Potter. He is the next generation of Steve Bruce/Alan Pardew/Steve McClaren who just live on how well known they are whilst screwing up job after job. Mediocre at Derby and Chelsea, awful at Everton yet gets jobs because he says the right things and was a fantastic player.
  19. Seen Zidane mentioned in a BBC article. If he did get that job, he'd be disappointed very quickly since Levy and the board don't really have a clear idea about how to go for a trophy. Real Madrid could buy any player they wanted, or bully any team into selling the player by playing the "We're Real Madrid, we're special" card and unsettling the player. Spurs can't go to the agent of a player and say "Your client should sign for us, we've won the league before The Beatles toured America. We are a top club." No manager with real ambition should go for that job. The best Spurs will ever do is get 2nd on a flukey season.
  20. Just read the Conte comments, and he's not wrong. The owners are more interested in making money and there is a culture of 'As long as we play nice football, and get in the top four that's OK' about the club. There is no hunger for trophies and titles like Man Utd under Ferguson, Mourinho's Chelsea or Pep's Man City. The likes of Kane and Son are happy being in such a team, and have not had that ambition and ruthlessness to simply turn down a new contract and leave for a genuine top club.
  21. I hear even the newest David Attenborough show has been pulled, and is online only because parts may criticise government policy. I apologise for going off on a tangent but I guess the BBC is now as impartial as Russia Today if this is true. I don't know how to steer this back on topic but I'll say it is going to be interesting to see how the European form affects the race for 4th place.
