Gutted about Raya going, I was really looking forward to watching him develop. Another thing added to Mowbray’s catalog of errors. I’d trust Brentford’s scouting department over Mowbray’s opinion a player, every single time.

Wouldn’t blame Raya one bit for leaving after the way he’s been treated here by Mowbray, it would be an absolute disaster for us though.

I’ve been very disappointed with the technical quality most of all. I’ve tried to give it a proper chance but I’m finding it almost impossible to watch. Think they have to make an offer for it to go to a tribunal when he signs for someone else (so they get a bit of a fee), non story imo.

Vorm would be perfect to work with Raya considering the height similarity, but no chance it’ll happen unfortunately.

& Sturridge has had awful luck with injuries throughout his career, can hardly attribute it to him ‘taking his foot off the pedal’ either.

Ruddy isn’t much better than Raya from what I’ve seen, and I’m almost certain he won’t be this time next year if Raya gets another full season under his belt. You’re also forgetting the risk of giving an ageing player his last big contract, à la Danny Murphy.

All keepers at our level make mistakes, the very best keepers make mistakes (look at De Gea this season). Leeds’ keeper against Derby has played 25 times for Madrid, and he was awful. Raya is a good Championship keeper now, in a few years he will be a good Premier League keeper.

Selling Raya now will turn into a disaster.

Scott Wharton’s Bury we’re officially promoted last night. He’s played pretty much every game since arriving. I think it would make sense for him to go back to them next season and have a full season in League 1 (with Jan recall clause), although I don’t think he wants to go out on loan again.
