They should be professional enough to stay calm though it obviously depends how violent it gets. If they start drawing blood or injuring people then Should take Kane off at HT. No need to risk people like that at this stage if Panama are getting over aggressive. I couldn't really care less about England or most of the players but Kane is someone I rate. Bring on people like Jones who probably have a 75% chance of being injured at some point anyway.

Bet there's still somebody in this country who thinks England will lose. ?

No thrilling split screen footage of VAR "technicians" in their "super control HQ" yet? It looked a bit boring to me actually would have thought it would look more like this...
-
That typical latin temperament I guess. They did look a little hot headed at times in their last game. Didn't go "over the top" though in my view but I didn't see the entire game either.

Why hasn't he dived yet?

What a lazy simplistic view. They aren't in England or Belgium's class hardly makes them rubbish. First time qualified for WC they are entitled to be treated with a bit more respect.

The wrong way because he got fired and his spell as first team coach was a stopgap until Venus arrived. So it's "fair enough" to suggest Dunn felt that way as long as it's not me saying it? He won't need luck anyway will he if he's as clever as he thinks he is? -
Or the previous ownership.
-
Yeah I guess when they thrashed Brazil in the Maracana of all places it was just "luck" because Brazil had a bit of an off night (understatement). They won a free kick (which Sweden gave away but who was in their territory in first place?) which was correct, dominated the 2nd half and scored one of the best goals of the tournament. Sweden played like cowards after the sending off you could see the fear all over them. Perhaps if they had tried to push forward more they would have been crushed but they should have been a bit more urgent going forward rather than hanging on. They could have done with a win as well it's a 3 game group stage for crying out loud.

Maybe it was the most subtle way of highlighting Dunn without outright mentioning him. You're not allowed to criticise Dunn even when it's pretty evident that he felt the role was somehow beneath him. Mowbray's pretty much said so. Even if you think Dunn deserved the role don't see how anyone could argue it was somehow "beneath him". -
Dunny leaving his role at Rovers

So I'm a liar then? Tomphil might not thank me for this (especially if it gets him any grief) but he pulled his punches in that post for a fact. So that's one example of others. Don't call me a coward. I have social anxiety/aspergers (and some other issues including a severe lack of phsyical defence skills which isn't cowardice just unfortunate fact) that's why I stick to forums so much for wanting attention. I've done things in past that prove I'm no coward. If you want me to seek attention surely confronting Dunn face to face contradicts that? I don't care who you were on about guess it's tough to respond to the truth isn't it? Are those who abused Kean (or anyone else they have criticised on here) cowards as well because they don't yell abuse at them face to face everytime they criticise? Pointless responding to this thread with people who would probably listen to Howard Walker insult Rovers for 6 hours straight then shake his hand. An inability to hold back contempt isn't attention seeking. So that's it. I'm asking people to go back to discussing what a "loss" Dunn is. Any critics please don't interrupt the puppets. -

What's embarrassing is someone playing parochial puppets on a string with his tiresome local boy rhetoric. That's the one "talent" he's good at besides those he's retired from. Am I the only one who feels like this? Far bloody from it. -

Sounds like an apt description of Steve Kean. Someone Dunn defended and "had no problem" with. Infact "Steve" helped him with his momentous coaching qualifications didn't he? -

Yeah I would have expected a lengthy statement too for such a momentous occasion. He did put out a statement when he left in 2015 which included touting himself as a "future manager". ?. Who does he think he is ? That tweet sums him up in his mind (look at me I'm local blah blah I am Mr Blackburn Rovers ?) he thinks we are all concerned other Championship clubs might be battering the door down for his services. Who's gonna appoint him for a first team manager anyway? Darwen? No offence to whoever manages them as they are likely way more competent than Dunn would be. Probably is family reasons. People say he has other business interests sounds like another ex-footballer is on his way to the bankruptcy court. I'm sure whatever business interests he has are investments or arrangements where he puts in some capital and the partner does all the legwork. Likes of Dunn should just save their money and not invest in things they likely won't understand. Unless he buys a pub. -

Thank goodness no other club can benefit from his illustrious coaching skills. ?. I was so worried someone from the Championship (or even EPL) would be kicking the door down asking him to manage them. ? Someone on another forum hinted he was upset at being "demoted" as first team coach and considering his ego that sounds believable. Pretty sure the lump was always intended as a stopgap until Venus joined and if I recall correctly Mowbray wasn't able to appoint him right away. If Dunn's upset about that what did he expect? Mowbray's worked with Venus for years. Also Chaddy we have been aware of this for over 24 hours now and longer in some cases as his departure was a recent rumour. No need to see his tediously unoriginal nickname in separate thread at this point. -
Not sure there's any "bad use" if you want any kind of controversy and incident taken out of the game. I don't like dives but neither do I like VAR in general. So to me if you feel its unjustified for "cross the line" incidents it's unjustified for diving matters too. Didn't watch all the game but from what I saw Brazil deserved it. Nowhere near as toothless as Argentina were last night moreso as a unit than just scapegoating the forwards. Took a while but seemed more an indictment of themselves and while obviously CR put up some resistance I don't think they put in a spectacular defensive performance. Some people will feel sorry for CR of course but they had a couple openings on counter attack (Balanos in particular) and didn't take advantage of them. So if you're not ruthless enough you generally deserve what you get. Brazil may have been lacking in that area too but they did enough in the end.

Don't think this has been suggested...how about green, silver and gold edges/trimmings? The main colours of the town crest. I know the crest has been used (albeit rarely) on the shirts before (1960 final for instance though there was no main crest/badge on kits until over a decade later) but the colours haven't. I'm not really that bothered what colour the away shirt is (nothing against the red of Lancashire though the 15/16 one could have been mistaken for a Man United shirt ?) but would be something new with more reasoning behind it than most used in past. Green/silver stripes or halves...whatever. I know some would like the away shirt to be halves as well. More a suggestion for next year anyway.

VACANCY: CONE MONITOR & BIB MAN (NOTE: NOT A SUPERHERO MASCOT). Blackburn Rovers are looking to recruit a new operative to provide a functioning assistance role within the football clubs U23 setup. The successful application will work with club manager Damien Johnson and offer consultancy + regular dialogue to the first team manager with an aim of progression to the senior setup. This is a demanding role with the main tasks requiring strategic placement of cone apparatus and provision of coloured garments. Applicant will also be expected to devise team bonding activities (local pub in previous incumbent's case though a broader range is preferred) and carry a sense of duty and responsibility as a role model to younger players particularly fitness matters. Also a brand new responsibility will be devising a dieting schedule. This includes taking into account religious dietary requirements, allergies, etc. This requires no prejudice towards certain dietary arrangements though preferably not to the point of no prejudice to any food in general. Applicant will be expected to hold or work towards obtaining necessary coaching badges. This isn't expected to be an arduous process as the course historically holds a 100% pass record (at least we have never heard of anyone failing including Steve Kean, John Barnes ,Tony Adams and the previous incumbent of this role). Please apply FAO Mr S Waggott, Ewood Park, Nuttall Street, BB2 4JF, Blackburn, East Lancashire, Lancashire, United Kingdom. -

Guess some people have a different conception of what luck is. -
Because I like him more as a person (Messi can be a bit of a prick at times albeit nowhere near Ronaldo level) and he still wins things. Pretty sure if you asked on Blue Moon whether they would rather have Ronaldo would say exactly same as I have. Cantona won more than Shearer would you rather have had him? ?
-
Overrated player and I won't even bother getting started on my opinion of him as an executive. OK maybe I'm letting my contempt get in the way (to be honest I've not seen enough footage to declare him overrated)
-
You always prefer the boring British candidate. Blocks of cement have more marketing prowess. Look how much attention Leeds United have gained from this appointment. Of course it's worth the risk and if he "walked out" it's hardly as if people like Bruce and Rowett (who would have walked out on Birmingham haven't) so be it. Might be the right fit for him though and the type Leeds United should look for. Not yet another "Plain Jane". The best manager Leeds had imposed his personality (I'm not saying Revie was generally better than Clough but obviously their records at Leeds were somewhat different!) on the place. They hadn't done sod all in football until he joined. He even changed the shirts so much for it being all modern "sacrilege" with nothing like that ever happening then. I'm not saying Bielsa will have the same success just that some people can impose their personality in certain environments and thrive. Whereas in others it may be more difficult.

Oh yeah because Maradona did nothing at international level. Seems like someone is still crying over a hand incident. I remember Chaddy and others complaining about it when he was linked as manager here but he's not even old enough to remember it (and neither am I). Pele's international teammates were better overall as well. People say Maradona carried Argentina in 1986 not sure Pele really had to do that (though I daresay he could have) for any of his World Cup wins.

I don't particularly like Sterling and I don't like Delph. Granted neither of them are as good but that's not the point. I still like Yaya even if he's been a bit silly playing the race card and all. As for the other players I like those the "older" ones more than the "newer" ones which kind of reflects the way my interest has gone. I certainly preferred Mancini over Pellegrini (nothing against Pellegrini as such but Mancini was a great personality and I completely lost interest after he left) and even Guardiola though obviously most would argue the latter is a better coach. I would rather have Aguero in my team than Messi or Ronaldo as well. Like I've said certain players bring success no matter what. So what if he hasn't won the CL it's a knockout tournament. Ex Man United or not my points about his egotism are accurate. If you want to be paranoid perhaps I'll suggest it's because he's ex-Man United why some people prefer him over Messi? Or perhaps I won't because it's baseless paranoia...right? As for "fat" Ronaldo (how anyone can mock him on such grounds when Dunn played here is laughable) yeah before his injury he certainly was. Worked pretty damn hard too getting back to the level he did after suffering so many injury issues. Shame that never gets pointed out.
