  1. Clubs are no longer accepting “ magic beans “ as a currency.
  2. Yeah they can all - run a lot, pass it 20 yards, tackle a bit, head the ball a bit, etc. Can the they beat an opponent with the ball at their feet ? Can they be a “. difference maker “ like Berkovic or Bohinen or Warhurst ? All that is coached out of them before they’re 15.
  3. I’m not an Hedges fan but it’s pretty obvious that he’s better playing on his “ natural “ side ie the left hand side.
  4. Ritchie Valens - Come On Let’s Go
  5. For me - 6 is an average OK performance. 5 is poor. 4 is really poor. 3, you must be the second coming of Christian ‘ bloody “ Dailly. On the other hand - 7 is good. 8 is really good, 9 is brilliant and 10 is Bryan Douglas level. Dougie got 10 from the national newspapers quite often.
  6. As soon as I read that I knew we were in big trouble.
  7. We’d need to be signing a new team of 11 players to spend that much. £3 million a year.
  8. ‘I’d finished the football season feeling ok. I’d be about 30. Just before we started training again one of the guys at work decided to form a rugby league team. So I turned up just for the training. I’d not played rugby since school. I went on the wing because I was quick ( or so I thought ) . We’d been played about 10 minutes when my centre made a break, drew the cover, and gave me the ball. I thought - ” I’ll just burn this lot off now , a straight run to the try line” . Bloody hell, it felt like I was running in treacle, my legs started burning, the covering players caught me before I’d gone 25 to 30 yards ! That yard of pace I though I had and I relied on to get me out of trouble was gone forever.
  9. OK , if you say so pal. Good enough for Scotland though.
  10. That maybe your experience but it isn’t mine. Charlie Mulgrew ?
  11. I like things to be out in the open. We’ve had way too much stuff going on behind closed doors. Each to their own I suppose.
  12. You need eyes that see for that.
  13. How do you think Simon Garner would have gone on playing upfront on his own with our “ service “ to him, surviving on one half chance per game ? Playing up front on your own is the hardest position on the pitch to play bar none. Without good service it’s an arse kicking job. I speak from a little bit of personal experience. I couldn’t get back to playing midfield quick enough.
  14. Regarding Baath - Once you reach his age you can “ go “ at anytime. It can happen in the time from the end of one season to the beginning of the next.
  15. Most of us would have crawled over broken glass to pull on that shirt and run out at Ewood. Just saying.
  16. If you don’t make chances you don’t score, if you don’t score you don’t win, if you don’t win you get relegated. It’s a simple as that.
  17. Ike And Tina Turner - It’s Gonna Work Out Fine
  18. The Everly Brothers - When Will I Be Loved
  19. The chicken chokers wouldn’t care/know if nobody came. They’d just cut their cloth accordingly.
  20. You’re never well in control at 1-0. As we saw it only takes one mistake and it’s game on.
  21. James Brown And The Famous Flames - Try Me
  22. That’s why you need to avoid newly promoted teams first up.
  23. Maybe the set piece coach had a play on that required a really crowded box. Where it fell down was the delivery of the ball. You can’t give people responsibility some of the time and take it away at other times on the spur of the moment. That’s how you undermines people. No doubt the set piece coach has had his card marked now.
  24. At least we’ve kept the “ losing to newly promoted teams record “ going.
