  1. Just when you thought anybody would be an improvement on Southgate Tuchel proves us wrong.
  2. Like you I thought we’d toughened up earlier this season but the old frailties are back again with a vengeance. Losing to teams who play in a more direct style, always losing once we fall behind etc.
  3. 2 weeks I think in rugby league. Unless you have a previous history.
  4. We got bullied throughout the game. Chaddy’s right about that. How many 50/50 balls did we win ? How many times to a Derby player just run through our attempts at “ tackles “.
  5. Right, I didn’t see that. Last I heard he was out until after the international break.
  6. Buckley is out with concussion apparently. A strange one.
  7. The Yardbirds - Heart Full Of Soul
  8. I missed last nights game as I had a very boring lecture to attend. Looks like I was the lucky one ! What I don’t understand is on Saturday we started out with a back four. Kargbo gets injured and we immediately go to a back five with wing backs. I thought that got us back into the game to a certain extent. However because the wing backs ( Ribeiro especially ) failed to get forward our attacking threat was minimal. We had no goal threat what so ever in the second half. I fully expected us to revert to a back four last night given we were playing Stoke and not a good side like Leeds or Sheff Utd. I don’t understand why we went to the back five again. . Reading the reports on here last night was just a repeat of the Derby second half. I hope we go to a back four again on Saturday against Cardiff. Unless there’s a big improvement I can’t see beyond another lack lustre performance leading to another defeat. Then the knives will really be out.
  9. Get burning some Indian flags, they won’t like that !
  10. I haven’t seen the programme because I haven’t got Sky but Rugby League has always been forwards thinking and innovative. The treatment of the match officials is just one area we could learn from.
  11. My son won a Rovers signed ball in a raffle a few years ago. It came with a written key to explain who the signatures were ! The one almost half way up on the left could be Shefti Kuqi.
  12. Quite a few are falling out of love with football. I remember thinking during that Norwich game recently - “ If football had have been like this when I was a kid would I have got interested in watching and then playing ? “ Possibly not. The boring possession based tactics, play acting and diving, the crazy wages, games on at stupid times, the death of the FA Cup etc etc. I speak to guys at the Rugby League that I played with and against who were football daft back then. They haven’t been to a football match in years.
  13. I was never a fan. Too many times I was left thinking “ how did that end up in the back of the net ? “ However he was like a Gordon Banks tribute act in one game at the dingledome when we lost 1-0. It was Fred v Burnley as the rest of the team had a real off night. He was only beaten by a disputed penalty, and he got a hand to that. A real 10/10 performance. Yes, he was an England “ B “ international.
  14. Even Fred Else had the odd stunning performance.
  15. They seemed to be trying to get control of the ball instead of just booting it up the pitch.
  16. If only we had wealthy owners, that would never happen then ! Oh, I forgot, we have.
  17. This “ starting slowly “ has come back to haunt us again recently. We let Norwich get their feet under the table last week.
  18. Just when you think football can’t get any crazier. Maybe he’s being brought in as an example of what not to do as a goalkeeper.
  19. And somebody else gets the Derby job and that chance has gone.
  20. That’s exactly what happened yesterday. We got turned over by a route one team. Nothing new there.
