  1. Yeah, he was one of the few players in that time that put a smile on my face. Who knows what he could have done but for the injuries ?
  2. Kathy Young And The Innocents - A Thousand Stars
  3. I’d have been really pissed off if that had gone in. Should be a routine save for a championship level goalkeeper.
  4. If Norwich are “ potless “ what does that make Rovers ?
  5. The Rockin’ Rebels - Wild Weekend
  6. Huey “;Piano “ Smith - Rocking Pneumonia And The Boogie Woogie Flu
  7. Ours was supposed to be an Ipswich Town replica.
  8. Both finishes were class. How he managed to square his body up to put the first one in the far corner was top notch. As you say he made the second one look easy but I’ve seen plenty of those missed. Bennett missed a similar one at Oldham with no keeper to beat, just an open net to put the ball into, and he missed !
  9. That’s why I’m so annoyed with Wharton. 3-0 up and cruising, absolutely no need to give the ref a decision to make.
  10. He’s got a bit of pace about him and he obviously likes defending.
  11. The BBC Gossip column reports that the dingles are in for another young winger to add to their collection. Kompany is obviously planning to be the first manager to field a team completely composed of young wingers.
  12. Rogers and Knighton - two top players there. Funny Sheff Wed kit. It brought back some memories though. I used to play for a team that wore that kit.
  13. We Five - You Were On My Mind
  14. I agree. I think it was a harsh decision but that doesn’t seem to cut any ice these days. They’ll back the ref. I thought their guy made a meal of it but Wharton gave him the chance. Not a great decision by Wharton to be honest. He should have let the guy go, we’re 3-0 up, cruising, and there’s nothing say their guy would have scored anyway.
  15. Conway Twitty - It’s Only Make Believe
  16. Getting the man as well was a plus.
  17. I can’t see an appeal being worthwhile in todays climate.
  18. Thanks for that.
  19. Mm, I’d say that tackle fitted into the “ reckless “ category. When I was clearing dinosaur shit off the pitch before we could play that would have been a perfectly good tackle and “ play on “.
  20. Who wanted Pears at that time ? You can only sell if you have a buyer.
  21. Would you be appealing the red card if you were JDT ?
  22. The thing about playing that position is you’ve got to be really disciplined in possession of the ball. You need to hold your position and not get giddy when you’ve got the chance to gallop away downfield with the ball. Lose it and you’re way out of position. Find a blue and white shirt with the ball and then keep sensing possible danger.
  23. The sending off was harsh but that’s modern football unfortunately. Go to ground like that and you’re asking the ref to make a decision. Back in the day if you got the ball like that it wouldn’t have even been a free kick. Things have changed. I’m afraid. I can’t see the club appealing to be honest. Great finish by Dolan for the first goal. Two great finishes from Sami, the second one especially was a lot easier to miss than it was to score.
  24. Great bit of marking there. Six players marking nobody.
