  1. Sounds like Phillips has outgrown his strength at the moment.
  2. We are above where I expected us to be in the league this season. However the level of football isn’t where I expected it to be. At times we’ve plumbed the depths this season, especially away from home.
  3. We seem to be having more than our usual amount of injuries this season.
  4. Dream on. He’s well past it even at this level.
  5. Regarding Mola - there’s an old saying in football. “ Centre halves are born not made “.
  6. He’ll be for sacking if he doesn’t wake up and smell the coffee. Not many teams football their way out of this division. You don’t get the chance to build a team gradually these days. Your best players get stolen away before you know it.
  7. Just shows what a prick he really was. What made him think that we could carry on playing the same way in every game until the end of the season ? Did it not occur to him that when plan A isn’t working you need a plan B.
  8. It’s the flavour of the month. You probably get a “ fail “ at all the coaching courses if you don’t play that way.
  9. Oh, definitely promotion. There’ll be other derby games.
  10. If Vale and Hirst are being considered should I get my boots down from the loft ? Gally has to play no matter what.
  11. Get the ball in their half and keep it there. Forget this playing keep ball with the centre halves. Big Sam would know how how to get a result there, I’m not sure JDT does.
  12. If we can field our best eleven in their correct positions we’re good enough to get a result there. No more experiments though. Don’t forget they came with an ace of losing tonight at home against the mighty Rotherham. They aren’t Barcelona.
  13. If we keep phoning in performances like we did last night what the teams in the top half do will be irrelevant.
  14. It’s the way to play. There’s nothing harder to deal with as a defender than players getting around the sides of your back four and putting crosses in. Especially at this level. Trying to stay with the guy you’re supposed to be marking when you’re running back towards your own goal is really difficult.
  15. I look at like this - if Rotherham can score two, so can we.
  16. Especially against ten men. You’re bound to get a couple of chances in that amount of time. Wether you take them or not is another story.
  17. I remember that, the Germans couldn’t handle him at all. He was too quick.
  18. Am I alone in getting worried about JDT ? Anybody can make a mistake but to keep making the same mistakes is becoming a problem. He doesn’t seem to be learning. Ideally we’d like to play with two strikers but if we haven’t got two good enough we have to play with one and pack the midfield. No point persisting with Vale or Hirst in Gally’s abscence when we could have Brererton up front ( not his best position I know ) and Dack in a five man midfield. We could then play with a conventional back four. I’m not a fan of wing backs. At our level they are rarely good at both aspects of the game and some of them are good at neither. Edun for example. They are just blunt instruments out wide.
  19. Could he have done any worse than Travis at right back last night ?
  20. Nothing he did last night helped us win that game. Lost in team selection and not for the first time this season.
  21. I liked Howard, on his day he was class. When he first broke through at Liverpool I thought he was going to go right to the top.
  22. I’m inclined to agree but I have doubts about Ayala’s mobility in a back four. As you say Scotty hasn’t been up to scratch recently.
  23. Results wise it’s been a good start, performance wise It’s been average at the best.
  24. 50 minus 33 was 17 when I was at school. Has a team ever gone the whole season without drawing a game ?
