  1. I think we should forget about Maja and start looking elsewhere.
  2. I’ve been watching a lot of old games on a YouTube site called “ Heavy Roller “ . The pitches are usually terrible, I don’t remember them being that bad.
  3. It’s an easy to understand system that pretty accurately reflects who did what in the game.
  4. I didn’t want Coyle because he’d been a failure at every job he’d had since leaving the dingles. It was an unbelievable appointment that caused me to temporarily throw in the towel.
  5. Between injuries and suspensions Lenihan has also missed a few games in the past.
  6. I wouldn’t swap Solksjaer for Mowbray so that should tell you all you need to know.
  7. It’d be a gamble fitness wise and Newcastle aren’t in a position to gamble.
  8. It’s not a picnic with all the Covid hoops to jump through. Then play international football a day or two after.
  9. One thing about Saturday’s game - nobody will have come away saying they didn’t enjoy the match. They’ll be back after that.
  10. I take my hat off to him, he must really want to play for Chile if he’s prepared to go to all that trouble.
  11. I heard he’d gone back to Norway for a short break.
  12. I remember little Jimmy Johnstone running the great Keith Newton ragged in an Scotland v England game just prior to the 1966 World Cup. I reckon it cost Keith a place in the final 22. Sir Alf went with Gerry Byrne of Liverpool who wasn’t fit to lace Keith’s boots. I think he ended up getting 1 cap in a friendly whereas Keith was a regular England full back for about 4 years. At that time Johnstone was a World class winger, unstoppable on his day. Fergie and Mike Harrison were a great combination. One a tricky dribbler the other fast and very direct. Every team back then had at least one really top class winger, some teams had two.
  13. That’s the nature of the beast with wingers I’m afraid but when they both click it’s great to watch.
  14. That’s a blow, we play them next.
  15. There’s a list of about half a dozen potential contenders for the Villa job in today’s paper. Hasenhuttl, Gerrard, Fonseca, Hjulmand, Frank, Terry etc. I find it strange that Dyche isn’t even in the running.
  16. They’re missing Raya.
  17. I could be wrong but I think we’ve won quite a few games this season when we’ve been behind in the possession stats.
  18. We’ve got Bristol City away up next. Home form W1 D4 L3. Scored 6 goals. If we can’t go for it in this game when can we ?
  19. I was talking about how we got the ball to the bye line for the winger to put that cross in. Also about how difficult it is for defenders to mark up once they’ve been turned around to face their own goal. They lost Brererton completely.
  20. Great stuff Tony, I bet you enjoyed doing that.
  21. If he’s going to Rangers he might as well stay on the bench. In my book the lads who played yesterday have the shirt. It’s theirs to lose.
  22. Lukaku and Werner being missing is handy also.
  23. Brererton’s goal was a classic example of what wing play brings. We got in up the bye line, the blades defenders were all turned around and facing their own goal. Easy for Brererton to lose his man for a tap in.
