I agree about Dack, he’s in no position to be asking for a rise. Those of us with long memories remember Rovers being in a similar situation when the club sold Fred Pickering to Everton when we were up near the top of the old First Division and in with a great chance of winning it. Think Brererton x 10. That was the beginning of a long slow slide to eventual relegation. I’m pretty sure that if we were to sell Brererton we’d see the same amount of money to spend from his transfer fee as we did from the Armstrong fee.

Nyambe is still making the same mistakes as he was when he first came into the team. Technically he’s no better. He’s still got no idea of how to cross a ball. Lenihan is still making the mistake of being drawn to the ball too easily, how long as he been in the first team ?

That doesn’t say much about the standard of coaching at the club does it ? All skills that can be worked on.

I don’t think the ball is lumped in the air quite as much in Italy. Plus if the guy playing alongside him was a dominant header of the ball you could get away with a shorter player.

It’s more about how high you can jump. Imagine Gallagher playing at centre half. He must be the tallest player in the team yet he probably can jump the least.

It’s like some rugby league players. They look like monsters out on the pitch but it’s amazing how slight some of the are in a tracksuit when you’re stood next to them in the bar.
