You can have the same bet if you like. -
David Speedie was half his size and twice the player.
-
It wouldn’t be too bad but we had him for a season previously. That was enough for me. The fact that he didn’t pull any trees up at big club and when he was back at Southampton told me we needed to stay away. I used to think he might have made a striker playing through the middle but I’ve more or less given up on him now.
-
I wouldn’t have signed Maja because of his previous history of back trouble but he’s out because of Covid at the moment.
-
Yeah, exactly what we are short of, some physicality up front. I bet Van Hecke won’t be looking forward to playing against him again.
-
Two lads who have just gone out on loan from Villa seem to be doing ok - Davies and Archer.

The only reason he wasn’t making the squad was because we had Ayala on the bench. -
We’re not making enough chances to win games. One or two shots on goal won’t do it.

I’ll have a tenner with you that we don’t make the top two. Charity of your choice. -
Other teams have worked us out. They just defend deep and don’t give us room to play in. They let our centre halves have the ball and just mark up all over the pitch. We just play in front of teams now.

Who plays at right back if we move Nyambe ? JRC isn’t up to it, Brown has only just got through the door and I have my doubts about Zefuik, apart from the fact he’s injured. I like Nyambe at centre back but smart teams will exploit his lack of heading abilities. -
Tony Mowbray Discussion

I thought that was Mowbray. -
It’s pretty obvious given our signings that Mowbray thought we could get away with playing the withdrawn No 9 and wide strikers playing on the break for the whole season. No thought seems to have been given to other ways of playing.

We didn’t really need another centre half, we just needed to keep Carter. -

Regarding Forss you could say the same about Brererton before this season. How many goals had he scored ? -

Keep going lads, we might get to 30 pages with a bit of luck. -
Premier League season 21/22

Who do think is going down ? All the bottom teams are putting in performances. Who saw Watford winning at Villa ? -
That’s why we’re not winning games. We only make a couple of decent chances per game and then they’ve been falling to the wrong players recently. If you are going to play on the break away all the time you are never going to have more the two or three players in the box on the end of attacks. They’ve got to be finishers. You’ve got to get players into the penalty box to score goals. Add that the our inability to score from set pieces and it’s not difficult to see why we aren’t scoring.
