  1. Vince Taylor And His Playboys - Brand New Cadillac
  2. It goes up to £2 million if he captains Portugal to winning the World Cup. Money in the bank I’d say.
  3. The little bits I’ve seen of him he looked to be a classy player. Let’s hope he can stay fit.
  4. Which is it Chaddy ? At one point in that post you say “ We don’t need a centre midfielder “, later on you say “ We need a centre midfielder signing “.
  5. Where that plan falls down is it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to hold on to young players. That is before they’ve made more than a couple of appearances.
  6. Gladys Knight And The Pips - Midnight Train To Georgia
  7. Nah, he’s only good for 20 minutes and that was before the latest injury. Plus he’ll be older. He’s been a really good player in his day but nothing is forever.
  8. I’m not too bothered about Weimann. His race is run in my opinion.
  9. That’s always a possibility at his age but my gut instinct says he’s got one good season left in him. I would have gambled on that.
  10. I saw Nick Lowe a couple of years ago backed by Los Straitjackets. They are a bit like The Shadows wearing Mexican Wrestlers masks. The whole show was excellent.
  11. I watched Fluminense beat Inter last night. Good game.
  12. He’s had mixed reviews, not just from the Torygraph. I’m not a fan, but Mrs Shoelaces is so I had to watch him. I’ve never really taken to him. He always comes across as a bit of a twat to me. I remember him from his early days when he was knocking about with Alexis Korner and Long John Baldry at the Cubi-Klub in Rochdale . As a spectacle it was great, what it must have cost to put that backing orchestra together ? Obviously his voice wasn’t what it was but he gave it his best shot. The crowd definitely loved it and that’s what matters at the end of the day.
  13. It’s like the one that’s crept into Rugby League - “ Sheds “ instead of changing rooms. Last time I got changed in a shed I was about 13. Bloody Australians !
  14. He hardly put a foot wrong last night, even under extreme pressure in the last minutes of extra time. Very calm with good levels of concentration. Their much vaunted top goal scorer hardly had a kick although you could see he’s going to be a top player
  15. Hinshelwood looked like a midfielder playing fullback.Fair play to him for playing in an unaccustomed position. Regarding Cresswell, he’s a very good stopper style centre half but I’m not sure he has the ball playing ability top Premier League clubs like in their centre halves. It’ ll be interesting to see if he signs for one. Quansah is a class act, if Liverpool had any sense they’d be holding on to him.
  16. 80 people killed in Gaza yesterday trying to get food. . The majority of them will be civilians, women and children. But don’t get excited about that, get excited about some chanting at a pop festival !
  17. Mm, “ several clubs “. When did we last sign a player when “ several clubs “ were interested ? Rovers are a shambles behind the scenes at the moment, even the football dogs in the street know that. The only reason a player would come here instead of another club is for more money and that won’t be happening.
  18. Nobody coming off during the game will give away much. It’s just the usual banal platitudes.
  19. I don’t think Cresswell is at that level yet but going off last nights Quansah could well be. Him and Anderson were the stand outs for me. I was disapointed with McAtee, he’s not in the game enough in my opinion. He hardly had a kick in the second half. The same applies to Elliot but he looked to be suffering from the after effects of the knee slide against the Dutch. He had huge ice pack on it when he came off. Stupid thing to do. Scott was looking decent until he got fouled out of the game. Livramento ? Is he a right back ? I thought he favoured the left side. The guy actually playing at left back reminded me of Pickering, steady but lacking pace.
  20. I’ll watch it later.
  21. Quansah awesome 9/10 performance. We rode our luck at the end with the one off the bar. I never like to see a team defending the 6 yard box for 15 minutes. Anything can happen but we got away with it. Well done boys.
  22. I’m surprised how slow he is. Rhodes level of pace, which is why the Championship was his level.
