  1. To all you Cole detractors, I'm sorry but IMO only one club comes out of this laughing and that's Fulham. To sign a player of Coles proven Premiership quality for a zero fee is one hell of a coup regardless of his wages, wonder if he'll be on 40,50,60 K at the cottage?...perhaps they aren't as stupid as other clubs Judging by the depth of feeling on here it looks like he'll receive a warm welcome on his return to Ewood this coming season,I dont think any Rovers fans can hold a grudge against the fella. Thanks for your efforts in the blue 'n' white Andy Cole your cup winning goal alone gave me the best day out in Wales ever..........
  2. Just 91 goals in 328 appearances speaks for itself........
  3. We have only been given an initial allocation if 1,000 tickets for the Preston game!! .....Think they'll have to send us that 'further allocation' rather sharpish if the past pre season following's to Bloomfield rd are anything to go by!
  4. Well IF what you are hinting at is true then both are a pair childish and irresponsible t1ts.
  5. Thats completely OTT Roverite...stick the knife in when it suits eh!
  6. I'm purely looking at the financial loss,(WORTH 7 MILLION TO NOWT IN 2.5 YEARS??)yes Cole's goal's kept us in the Prem but I would have realistically thought we would have been looking at recouping at least 1.5 - 2 million for him as he's still clearly a quality player....how much did Boro pay for Viduka Its my personal opinion that Fulham have got Cole on the cheap that bothers me, an Andy Cole who is STILL capable of coming up with the goods at the highest level....we have just merely concluded a lose lose deal here and nothing else. As for the Grabbi deal, the less said the better......JHC!
  7. Drama queens my arse! I'm now of the opinion that I hope Rovers board DONT give Souness anymore money, surely we aren't in a position to waste anymore coin!!
  8. From LET: 'If Cole goes then Rovers will not receive a penny for a player who cost them more than £7 million two and a half years ago.' 'However, the board have decided they are better off cutting their losses now, rather than continuing to shell out big wages on someone who's unlikely to figure in the first team next season. ' The above just seems to confirms that Dickov was brought in as a direct replacement for Cole.....Souness has had it in for him since the season finished,he had no plans to play him. I'm sat here with my head in my hands..were a ruddy laughing stock. Cole and Grabbi cost 14 million and with zero return....disastrous for our club and we all know who is to blame. APPALLED.
  9. ''Alternatively, could it be the Rovers' finances are in rather worse state and in the absence of any interest for Yorke and Todd, the club has had to find a way of getting rid of its top paid player?'' Good call Philipl, nobody dare touch on that point until now.Yet again another 2k season ticket holders are lost so out go the highest earners?....a very big and realistic possibility.
  10. Your spot on Jim, all this sh1te is doing NOTHING for the morale of our supporters .Will Rovers still now have the gaul to ring up the non renewing fan and have the bare faced cheek to ask why?.
  11. ''hes that good relegation fodder blackburn dont want him.wonder why'' Amazing how people jump to assumptions isn't it,the word clueless springs to mind with the above statement.
  12. Add Grabbi to Cole,York and Todd and the financial loss incurred by Rovers for those players is massive..VERY worrying. With the Cole fiasco Souness has just put his head on the guillotine block in my opinion.
  13. Souness has his replacement for Cole in Dickov much to my horror....its as simple as that,he really does believe this fella can do a job for us! . All this talk about signing the likes of James Beattie etc is pie in the sky it just isn't going to happen people. Will the board trust Souness ever again with big money after the Grabbi fiasco and now this abortion,he's wasted millions in all honesty with those two deals..complete financial disasters!!! The horrible truth in the cold light of day it appears has yet to hit home with some of you.......
  14. 'Andy Cole is NOW a 10 goals a season striker or in other words a mediocre premiership striker.' And how very precious those goals were from our 'mediocre' top scorer last season...... The club has set itself up for a big fall here and make no mistake To start Dickov ahead of Cole is nothing short is crazy, sheer rank stupidity.
  15. 'With the player reportedly on £55,000 a week, Rovers may well have to soften the blow by coming up with some kind of severance package to get Cole off the books. ' We are now looking at a ridiculous situation where the club has to PAY to offload one of its star players(money we cany afford by all accounts) who nobody really wants to see leave. JHC!.... Perhaps the story of Rovers paying half his wages while playing for another club are not too far off the mark after all
  16. I've just read the LET article and I'm sorry to say this but I'm becoming increasingly angry and frustrated with Souness. The partnership of Cole and Stead was showing some real promise last season...ffs! why cant you put your personal differences aside for the good of the club..your paid enough to be be proffessional and responsible on all levels for christs sake man!! Not one mention of the possible backlash from the Ewood faithful as yet again we look at one of the fan's favourite player's facing the Ewood exit door roughly a month before the new season start's. The thought of replacing Cole with Dickov is appalling to me,the guy isn't fit to clean his boots and we wont simply find a replacement as good as Cole as there are non available and we are 'skint 'as the club keep's bloody repreatedly telling us. I'M REALLY SADDENED BY THIS NEWS,ITS PUT A REAL DOWNER ON THE COMING SEASON FOR ME PERSONALLY
  17. A lot it would seem aren't prepared to listen Hughesy..they weren't 'entertained ' enough last season and thats enough for them. Sadly Indictive of a section of so called 'supporter' who attends Ewood these days...ITS A REAL SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS.
  18. ''Cole wants to know whether he will even get a game, with the arrival of Paul Dickov looking like a further nail in his coffin.'' Your a complete gem Nixon, anybody who believes that wild statement must have had a frontal lobotomy Just what is your problem with Blackburn Rovers fc fella, you write nothing but negative bullsh1t about our club
  19. ''An officer requested that the kick - off be delayed in order to reassure the crowd that there was no urgency. The request was denied'' That action alone is totally scandalous...unbelievable. Now then, your vitriol against Souness needs to be laid to rest Skemlad..the fella offered a full apology long ago.We have ALL said and done thing's(many without thinking of the consequences) that we come to deeply regret and Souness made that known about the interview and has continued to do so. What do you want him to do FFS? what is done is done, anybody who believes Souness DELIBERATELY set out to hurt the feeling of Liverpool's fan's need's to have their head examined. REMEMBER HIM FOR THE GOOD TIMES HE GAVE YOUR CLUB AS A PLAYER AND THE NUMEROUS TIMES HE PROUDLY LIFTED THE EUROPEAN CUP.
  20. £15!.....kiss my arse Stockport Roll on the Preston game.
  21. ''Blackburn is not a footballing town'' ''A couple of my mates experienced exactly the same emotions around 2 years after we won the Premiership. One of them just stopped going for a few months and the other actually got a S.T. at Bury for 2 seasons.'' These are comments from BLACKBURN ROVERS FANS......... This thread is throwing up some serious weird sh1t here roll on the new season before the psychiatric hospital beds overflow with Roverites!!! . . . .
  22. Short of spending money that the club does not have on big-name and big-money signings I can't see how the club could create a 'buzz' themselves. Personally, I'd rather not have a 'buzz' than to jeapordise our future. If that means a few less thousand season ticket holders...so be it. FLB Improving I totally agree and I might not have made it so clear above but the 'buzz' I refer to is not one of jeopardising our future - more the bringing pride back that we have a Football Club worth speaking about. That is why I also mentioned going back to the mid eighties - we never used to have money to spend willy nilly but there always seem to be a good feeling around the place when we where at home and everybody knew when there was a game on at Ewood. As so many have reflected on here overtime, maybe the expectation levels of the fans have been raised due what has happened over the years and we have had too much of a good thing (Tris, Gav). As a result the feelings towards the negative due to the 'bad season' we have just had may be the influence, but all in all there does seem to be alot of apathy about regardless of last season's mare - even now pre season which is normally an exciting and intriguing time for fans full of hope (from Carlisle to Man Utd) there doesn't appear to be an 'atmosphere' of anticipation about - more of doom and gloom around Ewood Park. How about 'We might not be able to compete with the likes of Chelsea/Man U's etc in finance but we will certainly give it a go on the pitch and at the end of the day we are still Premier League team just the same as them' Excellent post Capt..spot on.
  23. Leeds are after Bumley's 'superstar' Chaplow...I really do hope they get him in the end and we can watch our friends drop like a stone!
