  1. Thats because it doesn't suit the Mowbray is the best thing since sliced bread narrative.
  2. Think it went - ke*n, Black, Berg, Bowyer, Appleton, Bowyer in that season. Everyone lords up Mowbray for inheriting a mess of a club from Coyle, but I'd always argue that Bowyer (and by no means am I a fan of his) inherited just a big a mess as Mowbray, maybe even bigger during/after that 12/13 season. The only difference being that Mowbray has had the luxury of a third division promotion season to really skew opinion of him where as Bowyer (who actually achieved his first task of keeping us up) didn't. Bowyer finished 8th and 9th with 70 & 67pts respectively with much less transfer funds than Mowbray has had, and that was his first ever gig managing a professional football club. "Best thing to happen in years" we seem to hear off some about Mowbray. No he isn't, but he could end up being the worst if he's allowed to carry on for much longer.
  3. Why would you think he'd walk? He's here until the bitter end this bloke.
  4. I think we'll come out and beat these convincingly, like we beat Wigan 3-0 at home a couple of years back after we had just lost 6 out of 7. Unfortunately though, the cycle then starts again.
  5. I'd say the last appointment of intent was Lambert, most were genuinely excited with him, and to be honest if he was given over 4 years, with the same backing and not having to sell anyone i'm pretty sure he would have done what Mowbray has. Probably would have avoided league one too. I think out of your list its "A" or an even worse option "B" is that Venus just takes charge for a bit.
  6. Yep, oddly he left us and got a move to the premier league!
  7. How long until we get to the stage under these 3 berks and venkys that Ewood is "no longer viable" for "a club our size who only get 5k attendances" and we are sold a vision of a new stadium somewhere only to end up ground sharing with Wigan "whilst it's in development" or something? A bit dramatic but the parallels with Coventry seem scary to me.
  8. Mowbray's eventual successor will be Mark Venus. "You will be in good hands with Mark Venus" Mowbray will say as he departs. The whole club stinks at the minute, and I just can't see it changing.
  9. Do you not find it odd that there wasn't some huge gushing tribute to him yesterday with it being his 4th anniversary? Even scrolling through twitter his biggest fan Benno and co haven't even piped up.
  10. Maybe not a venkys shill, but you see one of the advantages of the scheme that we'll cut staff costs so effectively a thumbs up on people maybe losing there jobs?
  11. It didn't come up last season as it never looked a possibility. I dont think it is this season either, looking at that photo of Hulls drop last season though does put it in your mind a little though.
  12. So it is i read it the wrong way around! I'm sure Mowbray would put some spin on it another way though, more blocked shots or more possession or something.
  13. One point more in Lampards season though. Imagine that under Mowbray, it would be hailed as fantastic progress.
  14. Ipswich is too far away from his beloved Boro, no chance he would go there.
  15. Considering he is the most decent, honest and honourable man in the game though surely he could just walk away like he did at Coventry? I think we all.know why that won't happen though.
  16. I'm sure they would love to do all of the above (apart from number 7). I bet we'll still be talking about it in 10 years though.
  17. Summer 2021 will mark nearly 4 and half years in charge for Mowbray, and look at the state of that centre half list. Crazy that we'll be going into yet another summer with one half decent CH, one that will probably play one in six games, one that will be out until the new year, and two lads who have less than 5 starts between them. So, as the previous 3 summers we will need two new centre halves, a left back and a central midfielder as a bare minimum. And that is depending on the players we want to sign new contracts signing, and not losing Armstrong. No chance he suddenly starts playing 3 at the back either. There's a lot to do in the summer (again).
  18. I'm not sure about that, Derby finished 6th the season before he joined with 75 points. In Lampard's full season in charge they finished 6th again but on 74 points. No improvement at all. Like you said I think he would be lucky to get the Bournemouth job, and if I was in charge there I don't think he would be my first choice.
  19. That's because one cost £7m and the other didn't.
  20. Nyambe, JRC & Rothwell have to be tied down for me. I'd be really disappointed if we renewed Evans, Bennett, Williams & Bell. It was time to move on from that bunch 18 months ago.
  21. I actually think Ayala is a really good defender for this level, if he was 100% fit he would make a huge difference to us. If you could get him fit I'd even make him captain due to him always talking, the passion he showed when we scored them late winners against Milwall & Rotherham etc. Ultimately though he will end up being a waste of time because he can't stay fit, and that's on Mowbray and the team for not doing there due diligence on him properly, not the fans who wanted him in because he looked a good signing on paper.
