  1. Rothwell starts over BB for me, hasn't looked right since he came back from injury to me.
  2. Strange viewpoint this, I can't understand where you are getting it from. He'll still be here in 52 weeks, regardless of results.
  3. I'd probably agree with this, apart from maybe Johnson. Sneaky feeling Bennett gets another 12 months though.
  4. Game on Sky, could be a last ditch attempt from him to get his prem move in this window so I expect to see him shooting on sight at every opportunity and hoping a couple fly in.
  5. Armstrong would be nuts to sign anything long term with us at the moment, unless there is a £10-15 million release clause or something.
  6. John Buckley will go the same way as Paul Gallagher IMO. Obvious technical ability Will hang around here for a while Never play consistently in a nailed down position to make his own Drift off into league one when he's around 26/27 End up having a half decent Championship career without ever really pulling up any trees.
  7. Like others have said, I first started to have serious reservations about him during that horror run in 2019 when we lost 9 out of 11 games, I think that stands as our worst run of form since the war? I did initially think after that though that maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt going into the next season, then we sold our keeper to buy Gallagher, and didn't seem to have any plan in place for a replacement GK at all. Then we lined up against Charlton at Ewood on the opening day of the season, Rothwell who was our stand out player in the last 6 games or so of the season before was left on the bench to accommodate his mate Downing, Nyambe was left out to accommodate Bennett, Gallagher started over our player of the season from the year before Danny Graham, Mulgrew started in defence as captain despite Mowbray slating him the year before and saying "defenders were coming" (they weren't). We didn't see him again in the first team until the end of June. To cap it off, we were losing 2-1 in one of the worst opening day performances I have ever seen with 10 minutes left and one sub remaining, he then decides to leave his £7 million man on the bench who was on the back of a really good pre season where he had managed to score a few goals, and bought on John Buckley instead! Ever since then I have thought Mowbray just isn't going to get this club above lower/mid table in this league, and I haven't seen anything in the 18 months since to change my mind.
  8. Two questions... 1, Why would Celtic want Mowbray back? 2, Do you feel daft for suggesting that we'll finish in the top two after we lost to Watford?
  9. Somebody will inevitably point out "look at Ipswich and Sunderland though!1!"
  10. What makes Mowbray a better appointment than Bowyer out of interest?
  11. I'd take that Brighton keeper who played last night as backup rather than Pears to be honest...
  12. Would you be willing to put all your vast amount of winnings from the bookies on it? It just isn't going to happen.
  13. They will respond. But it will be March 2022 when we're in the bottom 3.
  14. My team would be - Kaminski Pike Carter Lenihan Bell Travis Davenport Dolan Dack Brereton Armstrong Nothing too drastic, win the game and keep the momentum from last Saturday going.
  15. I won't reply to your condescending post before this. Anyway, take out the fact that he apparently gave his word to come here and didn't (which is nonsense anyway). If its a choice between him and Johnson at centre half for the next few months surely its not an awful signing?
  16. Did he? I don't recall ever seeing anything to suggest he told someone at Rovers that he was definitely coming here. We offered him terms, he found a better deal. Things change in a few months The Sir Alex comparison is daft anyway, this is Mowbray's mid table Rovers, of course players are going to hold on for a better deal elsewhere before totally commiting.
  17. Yep. A decent January incoming, before go on another 1 win in 7 adventure.
  18. Not really sure what you are "taking issue" with. I agree with the first paragraph. Things haven't been good for a decade now though so it's natural support is dropping of. Of course you will, most kids who have Rovers supporting parents will inevitably follow in there footsteps. Parents who don't really have an interest though? There's no way there kids are following Rovers with City and Utd on the TV every week. I'm not making it up, a walk around Blackburn town cente on a matchday morning these days (pre covid) and you don't see many youngsters wearing Rovers shirts about. Plenty for the "big clubs" though.
  19. Well my lad for one! 10 years old and first game in 2015, he regularly says to me how bad we are but he's always eager to get back to Ewood and going to new grounds to watch us, even in todays era he looks forward to watching the next game on ifollow. But yes, unless you have family or something then I don't really see many supporting us off there own back these days unfortunately. Whenever I have a walk around Blackburn before going to Ewood these days I always see more youngsters in utd & city gear rather than Rovers.
  20. I find it bad enough that they wave that giant flag about at Ewood with his face on before kick off, although with him and Waggott running things i certainly wouldn't rule out a statue, probably put it in front of Jack.
  21. This was being discussed on Quest the other night. Think the government are making another announcement on Wednesday, although that will probably just to introduce another daft tier. Surely this has to be considered with the amount of games being called off at the moment?
  22. Is that the season review with the blue case called "The Rovers Return"? Thats the one i had as a kid, missed quite a lot out that video did, think it was an ITV production. I stumbled across one years later on ebay that had Garner on the front that was a two parter, and was closer to the highlights we have been getting in this thread.
  23. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55413489 Just been reading this, with this new strain of the virus doing the rounds do you think they should maybe suspend the football season for a month or so before it settles down? (If it settles down?) I fear league one and two especially could be thrown into chaos over the next few weeks with positive testing.
  24. The best bit of transfer business we could do in Jan would be to sell Mowbray and replace him with Bilic.
