  1. Chaddy, this is becoming painful, yes I get that you said that in your first post after the game, that's fine, but YOU said in the above quoted post that it was onside from the footage YOU had seen. When you were asked about this, YOU said it was from the EFL show on quest, as you can see from the quoted posts above. So my question to you again is this, how from that footage on quest, when they didn't even analyse it after the game, could you tell it was definitely onside? You can't possibly say for certain on that one angle if it was or not.
  2. The £12m on non players is conveniently forgotten about when we're talking budgets.
  3. These were your original posts, forget what Mowbray says, you clearly say it was onside from the footage you had seen. When you were asked about it you said from the EFL show on Quest. So I'm wondering, how could you tell from the one angle on quest that he was onside? It's inconclusive. Also, I'm not saying it was definitely offside, I can't tell from the footage available, and I'm certainly not taking Mowbrays word for it.
  4. You said it was onside because you saw the footage back on Quest. That footage didn't give any conclusive verdict either way. Now you are saying it was onside because Mowbray said it was, then had the nerve to ask if we think he is lying. I'm not going to blindly accept something because Mowbray says so, he also said earlier in the season when he was getting a bit tetchy, that Gallagher scored two against Preston, and it was a "load of crap" that his first went down as an own goal. It was an own goal, if it didnt hit the keeper on the head then it doesn't go in. Sky didn't mention it, it didn't get a mention in the Quest analysis, that enough tells me that nobody really saw it as a big deal and would make me lean towards it being off rather than on.
  5. More likely that we go through the motions and limp through the rest of the season picking up the odd win here and there.
  6. Not sure you can say he is definitely on from the footage on Quest, inconclusive. Sat in the Riverside it was close, but I couldn't say either way whether it was on or off. Anyway, special mention for Bradley Johnson today, he was simply horrible. The season is gone, surely we should be looking at Davenport for the rest of the season and hoping he can forge a partnership with Trav to take into next season?
  7. Yes without a doubt, you could say Bob Crompton too but he was well before any of our times on here. I'd love to see a statue of Garner, his record goalscorer achievement will never be overtaken in modern day football, with maybe a plaque listing the dates and opposition of all of his goals. Probably far too much effort for a venkys owned Rovers though.
  8. Makes me laugh if that's correct about us wanting to get home fans behind both goals. I'm all for it, we could make it unreserved seating, promote it as a singing end etc. Oh, wait...
  9. Obviously Clayton, Douglas and Parkes's playing days are before my time but it's obvious that all three of these great men could have the title as "Mr Blackburn Rovers. My grandad used to tell me about Clayton and Douglas all the time, real hero's of his, and any "older" Rovers fan you speak to in any walk of life will probably say the same, it's such a shame there isn't much video archives of these two in there prime because it's something I would love to see. I have met both too, Ronnie on a ground tour in the late 90's and Bryan at the hall of fame event last year. For anyone my age though, mid to late 30's Tony Parkes is just synonymous with the club, he was the one constant in my first 15 years or so of watching Rovers, and it felt like throughout my child hood and into my teens that he was constantly bailing us out of trouble after various managers had made a pig's ear out of things. For anyone who has the 96-97 season review VHS theres a long feature with him on there and how well he speaks of the club, the town and the fans. It's a shame the way he left in 04, but the testimonial night in 05 certainly went some way to making it up to him. I think if Ronnie and Bryan have stands named after them, then Tony certainly deserves that honour too. I'm looking forward to seeing him come out on the pitch today.
  10. We have been here many times in the venkys era, expect the most meek performance you have ever seen and a 2-0 defeat.
  11. I'm literally speechless at the thought of a training pitch being named after him. Bloody hell.
  12. I think he'll go with a midfield three of Bennett, Travis & Downing, with Gallagher, Armstrong and JRC in front of them.
  13. Think that's a bit harsh to be honest, yes it's £5 a ticket which is amazing, but it's still potentially a long and expensive day out in London, for which in all honesty is mid table second division game. If we had won those two home games over Christmas and were sat in 6th or so it would have been interesting to see what following we could have taken.
  14. Or getting promoted.... No, you are correct. The likes of Travis, Nyambe etc are our hope of getting out of that.
  15. Must have had a bit of a surge over the past couple of days, Charlton tweeted out on Tuesday that 20k had been sold with over 19.5k in the home ends.
  16. I think we all know that Gallagher will be one of them, the other will be Bennett or JRC.
  17. Also said it's likely any new signings wouldn't play this season as they need to learn the way we play and would have to get to the same intensity as our current lads. He always says things like this though, I wouldn't pay much attention to it. He threw Tosin & Cunningham straight in, Holtby didn't have to wait too long either.
  18. Can you actually ask (respectful obviously) spontaneous, uncomfortable questions at these events or are they all vetted by whoever is hosting before they get to the top table? Wonder how long in the evening it'll be before Mowbray tells us how honest he is, and mentions what 1970's life in Middlesbrough was like despite nobody asking.
  19. Be interesting how we lineup next week. Buckley in behind the striker? Or do we play Downing there with Johnson in with Travis? I highly doubt JRC starts next week unfortunately.
  20. A draw in isolation like others have said is ok, although 6 pts off might be a bit much to make up for our really thin squad. Probably have a better indication after our next two which are both at Ewood.
  21. The way Travis took control of that situation and burst forward to make the goal is something we have been missing in our midfield for years. He's going to be some player.
  22. Good on Mowbray giving JRC the nod, I hope he does well.
  23. Just a reminder that Mowbray has now had 6 transfer windows, and still hasnt signed a permanent defender of championship quality. The back four of Nyambe, Lenihan, Mulgrew and Williams that started his first game 3 years ago are all still here, with only Bell signed on a permanent deal to compliment them. GK, sold an academy grad for a very low fee, and replaced him with a worse keeper who isn't ours, well yet anyway. Up front, he inherited Graham, Gallagher, Emnes & Joao. Three years later we have Armstrong who is an improvement, Gallagher who has regressed, Graham who is three years older and Brereton who has been a disaster. Stood still if we're being very generous, in my opinion slightly worse off. Midfield I think we can all agree has been improved, emergence of Travis with JRC waiting in the wings, Dack being our main man, Downing and Holtby being good signings and the obvious talent of Rothwell complementing them. Johnson indifferent. Apart from the midfield, it doesnt look good, and if we haven't done it in six windows I hold out no hope of Mowbray addressing the defensive situation in the summer.
  24. I can see the summer window excuses already. Well the Euro's are on, we can't possibly do any business until they are done...
