  1. Don’t appoint rookie managers then if that’s the expectation.
  2. £6 for UK brewed pretend Moretti? No wonder folk stick to supermarket beer.
  3. The fact that he is already running PL games and the debate is when he’ll be playing for England shows how Palace had our pants down and no mistake.
  4. If this club had aspirations to be better, then of course he’d be replaced… but we don’t, so he won’t.
  5. Nobody is talking about reducing match tickets (so undercutting ST holders), in fact don’t, as you can then still rinse big away followings. PNE’s match tickets have actually been increased in price to do just that, as they know the home support is protected from those prices by buying STs in big numbers. Outside the PL, reducing season ticket prices is the only way you are substantially increasing crowds, as STs make up the bulk of the crowd for the entire season - just like our neighbours are seeing. Will it bring in more revenue? No, not really, but so what, it can only help the team, the atmosphere, there are secondary incomes that come from more bums on seats too - if you have the supply, utilise it.
  6. What’s lame about it? Two very similar sized clubs to our west and south have done just that and are now selling far bigger numbers. Now, it helps if the reduction is done when there’s a bit of momentum around the club, I.e last summer would’ve been a good time as we’ll struggle to sell decent numbers at any price this summer with everything that’s gone on- but generally at this level (I.e not PL football), only a reduction will see numbers go up at a club like ours.
  7. The only reason Blackburn Rovers is ‘broke’ is because the Rao’s are no longer funding their business. If any other non parachute club had owners who had turned the taps off (or had the authorities turn them off for them) they’d be broke too. There is nothing fundamentally different about BRFC, we just have owners under investigation for financial irregularities.
  8. Their forum made me laugh, ‘we’ll be everyone’s cup final’, ‘everyone will raise their game at a place like St Andrew’s’. Big Club as ever.
  9. Goal difference, then goals scored then head to head record. So if we’d have been level on goal difference and goals scored, as we beat them 4-2 at Ewood and only lost 1-0 at St Andrews we’d have stayed up.
  10. Oh he’s obviously on borrowed time at 37, but if we never see him in a Rovers shirt again, he was still a bloody good and needed signing.
  11. Totally agree on McFadz. Yes he’s experienced, but a superb attitude and a leader in a team that seriously lacks them - as the actual captain for most of this season is very much lacking in that quality from where I’m standing.
  12. No chance, the only real thing that still get clicks and keeps the LT from folding is Blackburn Rovers, they won’t be biting the hand that feeds them.
  13. Of course, but why are we still waiting? As JH often alludes to, get them on sale for as long as possible when folk are in ‘football mode’ like every other bloody club in the country. It’s hard enough here with everything that’s gone on, yet those running the club even bother giving it a chance.
  14. Bolton will definitely fill it next time. Years since we’ve played them and a club/fanbase with momentum.
  15. Come on SG you get my point, the buzz that any big/pivotal win gets you in the day or two after. Obviously this season wasn’t anything but compete shite, but there’s certainly a bit more of a spring in a fan’s step than if we’d have survived on the back of other teams’ results post a 4-0 defeat.
  16. But like when we had two top strikers at this level in Rhodes and Gestede… and still ended up nowhere.
  17. Of course he is, very capable manager at this level and he has that reputation in the game. Always made me laugh when plenty on here tried to make out that Rovers was his meal ticket and he’d never get a gig again in the Championship.
  18. And that’s a fair assumption to make, take Rooney’s shocking spell out and they wouldn’t have been close.
  19. Nope bad luck to him. Passed down to me just like it has in my family generation after generation - just like that dad should’ve done.
  20. About three months apart, I’ll always remember the Arsenal game as I went on a protest pre match and got an earful for a load around m as I took my seat - ‘just get behind ‘em’ FFS’ Needless to say most of said fans have long disappeared…
  21. To be fair that’s more in depth knowledge than most journos cobble together in the national press.
  22. Yep, you can’t keep going to the well on relegation and bouncing back. Look at Norwich and Watford, perennial yo-yo clubs - Watford have now lost their parachutes and every chance Norwich will have by the end of the month too and then you are back with the herd. Keep turning over your squads, get stuck with demotivated high earners, some poor signings and before you know it, it’s gone as per Hudds, Stoke and many others.
  23. Your first example, fair enough, that’s what happens when you get out of the habit. The second one - shame on them.
