I’m not knocking the NFL (not my cup of tea, but each to their own). But obviously the disingenuous way Sky are advertising these extra games is on the back of the NFL ‘red zone’ or whatever it’s called.

He knows it isn’t, he’s operated at this level long enough. Certainly don’t expect any ‘ask Steve Suhail’ from this mon, he knows exactly what he’s signed up to.

No we’ve got loads somebody was saying… don’t want to stockpile, not enough whistles to go round! Can get the coaches doing physio too, why not.

A problem a lot of other club fans have is that they project their experiences on ours. Which is fair enough as any normal (I.e they face economic reality in the end) owner, with good intentions or nefarious would’ve given up the ghost by now. Sheff Wed will be rid of theirs in the medium term. As were Birmingham, as were Cov, as were Reading. This lot however, don’t seem to care about the economics, or football, or abuse. Nothing.

But, but the NFL!

The only difficult and strange place to operate in is Blackburn Rovers.

No I don’t underestimate them. I’ve seen them for fifteen years. There is no stomach for it with the majority of the match going fanbase. Doesn’t mean the likes of Glen won’t get traction elsewhere, but you need to face facts when it comes to the Ewood attendees. If we are ticking over results wise you’ll see bugger all dissent apart from a few ‘Venky’s don’t care about me’ chants and an odd banner. Even if we aren’t ticking over, a managerial change, a run of results out of the blue will quickly stub out dissent. Wish it was different, but it just isn’t and I’m dealing with reality not what we’d like to see. (*Though feel free to quote me with glee in November or whatever when you see weekly Sheff Wed style uprisings,I’d be delighted to eat humble pie, but I sincerely doubt it).

Yeah get Travis, Brittain et al out the door ASAP as we won’t have enough clothes hooks in the dressing room otherwise!

We didn’t do it with anywhere near the commitment the Sheff Wed fans are showing … in just two games they’ve had a near total boycott of the concourses on Saturday, 99% of their following staying out the ground at Leicester. We’ve had just as good organisation by the likes of Glen and others, alas the wider fanbase just hasn’t ever had the stomach for it (apart from just walking away entirely, which, of course, is the ultimate protest when your cash is involved).

Why were there two 2pm games yesterday? As far as I could see there were no European games involving those four teams the preceding midweek?

I always thought they liked a ‘Big 6’ game to open the season. Didn’t realise one of them had to be a Big 6 also ran… which is obviously true in this case.
