Great kit and confidence, we need Ben to step up this season, he’s started extremely well.
-
@Sparks Rover You were so quick to put your foot in your mouth I couldn't resists 😁 But I could have picked plenty more 👍 Great result today with a depleted squad, Diaz 2 in 2, who needs Armstrong? A word for Mowbray, substitutions looked to have changed the game. Onwards and upwards.

Boooom We’ll never come back from 1 down 😂

He’ll never score goals in the Premiership 🙄

What a great gesture by the towns taxi drivers, I bet it meant so much to Donnas family and friends. Restores your faith in people a story like this, superb https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/19512115.taxi-drivers-line-pay-final-respects-council-worker/

@47er I’ve just read that you attended the 1960 cup final? If you get the time can you give us a flavour of the day? How did you travel down? Football special? Coach or car? Where did you stand/sit? Id love to hear your account of the day or anyone else’s for that matter.

Brentford - everything we should be

Beat me to it Matty: -
Folk and country music singer-songwriter Nanci Griffith has died aged 68, that’s no age….. Saw her live a few years ago at Finsbury Park, just brilliant, she came on before Shane Mcgowen! Sad news.

Sadly, this doesn't improve until these owners crawl back under the rock from whence they came......or preferably the rock falls on them! -

How about 20yrs of nights like Brentford had last night, pots in the cabinet, European football, watched some of the best players in Europe week in week out, had the best striker in the world banging in the goals, captain of England, I could go on. We have a proud history and you should remember that. -
He delayed coming out at the start of the game too, just to let the locals know he was here 😂 Brilliant stuff from Souness, pity John Williams didn’t take the larger allocation, more Rovers fans could have experienced that night, even in defeat. As Jim says above, we tonked then on the night but conceded a sloppy goal against the run of play, the home performance was rubbish.

Maybe not quite as fast matt, but point taken. Nerves must have been off the scale for the lad, felt sorry for him really.

A slight digress, but I believe I can beat that one JH. King rat 2011 away at Cardiff, dropped several first team players in the QF of the cup and we lost 0-2. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2011/dec/01/blackburn-steve-kean-forfeit-claim Disgraceful, a lying swine. "He claims his use of the word forfeit was taken out of context" - 🤬

The State of Ewood Park!

Don't anyone tell me that Waggot doesn't have the training grounds best interests at heart. Look at the entrance, those flower pots are £11 at The Range, the fake conifers behind are £7.99, they don't have to spend that money you know. -

We said the same when Rhodes left, but I do take your point Paul. Goal scorer is hardest position on the pitch to fill, I’d start at the back and work forward. I was chatting to a Brum season ticket holder today who couldn’t believe our rough tough former Boro central defender, couldn’t sort his defence out after 4 seasons….. -

Middle class Tory toys 😉 We got cello taped cardboard boxes, free from Ewood Kwik- Save, we never complained. -

If a half decent manager walked into the club tomorrow, they'd watch one game and immediately go out looking for a top class defender or two. Then they'd look for a commanding, influential midfielder and the striker would come last. That should be the order from now until the transfer window, if you don't concede goals, you don't lose games. -

Sacrilege! I was in London before the pandemic and they have a restaurant that specialises in hot dogs and champagne, if she doesn't invest in a bottle next time to accompany the food thats reason enough for divorce!! Just seen its been lost to Covid: https://www.bubbledogs.co.uk/ -
Great listen, proper club, run and managed by proper footballing people. I remember being absolutely chuffed to bits when we signed Cole, it didn’t work out wonderfully well, but that goal in Cardiff more than makes up for it. Talk about a manager past his sell by date though, he lost the plot towards the end, I bet John Williams couldn’t believe his luck when the Geordies came knocking 😆

Millwall got a decent result away at QPR on Saturday, in what was a very open and attacking game by all accounts. We surprised everyone by beating last years play off finalists at a canter, should have been more. 1-1

Sunderland sold the old training ground for housing, then took out a £9m loan secured against the new training facilities and ground, as did Derby and Southampton. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/feb/22/sign-of-the-times-how-english-clubs-are-turning-to-high-interest-us-loans Apologies, Sheffield Wednesday sold Hillsborough to the mad owner and were relegated as a result last season due to financial irregularities, he's still in charge. -

**Disclaimer: I don't want us to sell the training ground, I'm just stating the facts which are missing in this debate** Many football clubs in dire financial trouble sell the training ground, Wigan, Bolton, PNE, Portsmouth, Sunderland and Sheff Weds just off the top of my head, why are we any different? Why are we such a special case? Venkys own the training ground, they own Ewood and the land surrounding the ground, nothing goes through unless they sign off, its basic stuff this. -

Apologies I know this is a transfer thread...... Bobbins arbitro. Kean got Allardyce the sack, Kean sacked long serving players of this football club without a 2nd thought, Kean refused to accept being sacked and resigned in his own time, under his own steam..... . Kean waged war on the fans both physically and mentally and thats just off the top of my head. Glenn Mullen tells a story of getting that crooked swine to actually sub a player during a match!! Mowbray is a football manager who has outstayed his welcome, thats because we have weak owners and no functioning boardroom. Mowbray has past his sell by date, we all agree on that, but Kean was a crooked dangerous bastard who destroyed this football club for his own personal gain and will one day get his comeuppance.
