  1. Hughton finished behind Mowbray last season and is 14 places below him this season, with a much better budget, which seems to matter to many. Could it be bonkers owners at play here JH?
  2. No and probably no. We bought Diaz and Gallagher 2/3 seasons ago, how long are we going to go on about those 2 players? We sold Armstrong, that more than pays for those 2, we sold Raya too for £3m and a fit Dack is worth £10m+ Why is the squad depleted? Why can’t we sign players to contracts? Im happy to sack Mowbray, then at least it will stop this reliance on bringing up Diaz and Gallagher as some sort of stick to beat Mowbray with, that’s a general observation not aimed at you Jack.
  3. Thats because the owners have refused to back him in recent windows and are refusing to the sign current players to contracts, its ludicrous. The same happened under Lambert when he first arrived, the same happened under Bowyer. This isn't a Mowbray thing alone Jack, even though he is past his sell by date.
  4. Every season is a write-off until Venkys leave Riverside. Mowbray is well past his sell by date and still we trundle on like nothings wrong. Nothing improves until the owners crawl back under the rock, it’s been this way for 11yrs and counting. Neil Warnock called it - I spoke to one club, but they don’t know what they’re doing, I agree Neil.
  5. Very good day for Lancs after losing both openers early doors, the tail has wagged. 364/8
  6. Spot on, beat me to it Joe.
  7. How many times in 4yrs has Mowbray admitted to getting things wrong? Its the sign of a good leader when you can admit your mistakes, I'm struggling to think off the top of my head, a time when Mowbray has held his hands up and said I got this wrong.
  8. Lancs v Somerset live on Sky over the next 4 days, weather permitting.
  9. Just realised she came through qualifying too, which makes that win even more impressive Jim.
  10. I'll remind you of that next time Mowbray mentions the West Brom and Fulham budgets 😉
  11. "Rovers were described by Luton Town boss Nathan Jones as ‘a good side’, with ‘a big budget’ ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s meeting" Getting his excuses in early the arrogant swine. Rovers 6 Luton 0
  12. Bloody tin ear that one @47er 😃
  13. That’s a great montage Jack, thanks for that. Quality player that we/I took for granted back then, makes the current crop look like Sunday league.
  14. Maybe your memory is better than mine den, or you sat in the posh seats and all this took place at the Darwen End. I spoke to a Man Utd fan recently who told me Pedersen scored most of his goals from free kicks, actually he scored a few, but he was poor from set pieces in the main. But a great club servant.
  15. He used to send my blood pressure through roof with his inability to beat the first man seemingly every time he took a corner, what was he doing on the training ground? But a great club servant.
  16. Ruined my weekend that, from a purely selfish point of view...... I hope the ones with Covid make a speedy recovery.
  17. You leave Revidge and Mercer alone, have some respect please Sparks 😉
  18. If only football was a simple as that J*B? Kenny had the biggest budget ever for a 2nd division club and just about sneaked into the playoffs in 6th place, nobody complained (Actually my dad did) and the rest is history. Derby and Wolves both had massive financial backing back then too and never reached the heights we did, which just goes to show money guarantees nothing in football, but in todays game its certainly more of a factor than back then. Some good debate on here but only 2 pages so far, that tells its own story sadly.....
  19. Never a penalty either.......
  20. @K-Hod Great gig last night at The Piece Hall, sets things up nicely for Heaton Park. Bernard Sumner, after 40yrs, has actually managed to find his singing voice, the band were on top form, which over the years hasn't always been the case.
  21. I'm going tonight, Halifax Piece hall, or is it somewhere in Rome?
  22. I had family that lived at Higher Croft and spent many hours in those fields dreaming of playing at Ewood one day. I used to watch the games from the hill when I was to young to attend and remember the scrap yard Asia. Jumpers for goalposts 😉
  23. I have to take exception with this Herbie with the greatest of respect. Gordon Lee in 1975, Howard Kendal in 1980, fantastic seasons for the club and its supporters. The promotion from league one under Mowbray seems to be frowned upon on here rather than celebrated, thats not right, we are hardly blessed with promotions over the past 50yrs, lets not chalk them off as somehow below us. The Oxford game with 28,000 fans on Ewood was just brilliant, I never thought I'd see those numbers again, just superb for me.
