  1. Alright I’m going to say this once more before I start locking and closing these threads, because once again my email is full of reports. This is a football forum. We have purposely not done anything to acknowledge the death of the Queen because we are a Rovers forum in the first insistence. If you want to discuss or post on any of the following, use the relevant threads in ICBINF or WDWY: Politics The Royal Family The death of the Queen The new King The cost of living crisis Brexit The King’s brother This is the final warning on this subject. If you choose the ignore this I’ve asked the moderation team to issue warnings, hide posts and lock threads.
  2. Well intercepted, moderation team.
  3. Locked in for tomorrow.
  4. Just a note, if this descends into anything other than positive tributes I’ll be moving it into WDWY.
  5. They’re A* fakes, you won’t tell a bit of difference. Takes a couple of weeks to post though.

  7. Speaking of predictions, new feature (beta stage) here… https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/football/predictor
  8. Not at all, what does this mean?
  9. Armstrong was absolutely nothing to do with GB, to be fair. Although to be fair, we got 15M for him and that helped covered the cost of a global pandemic. As far as Waggott’s leadership, Armstrong is a major success point.
  10. You can’t just pick the bad results though. At the moment we’re 13 from 8. If that carries on across a season we will get 71 points. Just outside the top 6. For what it’s worth I think we will end up in the early 60 points - 60, 61, 62. And I think that would be a starting point to work from.
  11. No, but I don’t understand that to be the plan. I think they hope to sell him for 20 million quid in 2.5 years and buy 2 or 3 quality players for the squad.
  12. Yet - predictably - we’ve had some good performances and some bad performances. We’re sixth in the league at the moment. We will finish bottom half because we don’t have enough depth in our squad. Hopefully we get one over on the Dingles.
  13. Ultimately, I guess my point is I just think having ex-pros involved opens up another line of scepticism.
  14. In 2010 Exeter striker, Adam Stansfield died of bowel cancer aged 31. The club retired his number 9 shirt and nobody has worn it since. On deadline day, Adam’s son, Jay, signed on loan at Exeter. Guess what number he made his debut wearing yesterday?
  15. I agree. That’s why it’s a mockery that we had a ref against Stoke who’s family are PNE fans (or at least, that’s what I read on Twitter).
  16. Decent squads get promoted from this league. We need to start selling our best players when they’re at their highest values and reinvest into the full squad. We have a good first eleven and then some bog average squad players.
  17. Even if that happened, I don’t think the club is set up for it. We’d get promoted and be Bournemouth’d every week. I actually think the ideology from GB is the one we should be taking. Improve each year, try to develop our own players so that we don’t need to buy a full team, try to “create value” (improve players, sell them, improve the team). The only rationale I can find for not selling BBD this window is because they thought it would be at such a detriment to the team it would put the “journey” under too much pressure.
  18. I think we’ll win here. If they play 3-4-3, I’d play: Kaminski Carter Ayala Hyam Dolan Travis Buckley Pickering Hedges Hirst BBD Subs: Pears, Mola, Phillips, Morton, Wharton, Szmodics, Dack If they play any other formation I’d play 4-2-3-1: Kaminski Carter Ayala Hyam Pickering Travis Buckley Dolan Dack BBD Hirst Subs: Pears, Mola, Phillips, Morton, Wharton, Szmodics, Hedges
  19. It’s exactly the same as Mowbray, because as I’ve just said in the post below for me that is the only way out of this league. The difference is I didn’t have faith in Waggott, Park and Mowbray to achieve that goal. I didn’t see any improvement. I do have faith in GB and JDT.
  20. What other option do they have, out of interest? They can’t spend any more than what we are used to spending because of FFP. As far as I’m concerned there’s only one viable way out of this league and that’s what they’re trying to do: Year on year improvement until you can compete.
  21. Come on Jim, you know full well it doesn’t work like that. Whether or not you get to see promotion makes no odds to anyone but yourself. In interview one GB mentioned the project and he has maintained it since In interview one JDT mentioned the project and he has maintained it since. That is the reality. They’re not trying to get promoted this year, or likely next year. They’re trying to build something over time so that when we do get promoted, we are in the best position to be so.
  22. It was reported on at the time, I don’t have the info to hand. It was measured by wages and net spend, from memory.
  23. Apologies - failed to avoid getting us relegated**
  24. That 94M he spent in January made a big difference in their relegation chances. As far as I’m concerned this season JDT is making a judgement on the players and working out what positions he needs. In fact, as long as we’re not going down I would say it’s unfair to make any judgement for at least 18 months. Let’s not forget in his first 18 months, Tony managed to avoid getting us relegated and miss out on winning League One despite having the biggest budget in L1 history.
