  1. They were great days. Ewood packed every game even though we were in Div 2. You're right about the A Stand too--I remember being jealous of their seats. I was at the Darwen End!
  2. My Dad and I had a season ticket for years in the Nuttall St Stand. From the early 50's on the seats were benches. At some point later in the later 50's they replaced them with individtual seats. But they were never painted, just plain wood.
  3. And think Bury as well and don't allow these historical clubs to fade away.
  4. On the other hand, if he arrives last minute Mowbray won't have had time to get to him and he might just play his normal game!
  5. Oh you're right there. Not even once in a generation----once in a lifetime. I've never seen the rumoured potential loanees play so I have no comment on them but I do feel we've gone from being England's champions to being a nursery for big clubs we used to beat regularly. And it hurts!
  6. Ok! I've had another look! Hedidn't beat 3 defenders, he beat 2!! Then he got a lucky break off the shin of the third. Still great play though, and it still means he created the chance for Dack.
  7. In that case I'm off to get some new specs!
  8. He had dribbled past 3 players though----almost a lost art!
  9. The best ever Rovers centre-back made his first-team debut at 17----Mike England! Wikipedia purports to list his career but never mentions Rovers at all, yet he played 180 times for us! Only Spurs! 😂 I've no idea if he made his debut in that position though, he started off as a wing-half for a while. One for Parson that---said he, craftily tempting him back!
  10. Your sense of urgency is keenly felt---on here! But not where it matters I presume. A left-back! That alone makes me drool!
  11. I thought he was about to regain the ball when he saw Dack was in a better position. He stood back and let Dack smash it. Surely no argument that Dolan made that goal from nothing with tremendous skill? I think he's the most exciting prospect at this age I've seen at Rovers since Jones, though I'm not yet predicting the same future for him------yet!
  12. In the end every manager runs his course. The players need fresh input, they get sick of hearing the same old stuff, the supporters need something to believe in again and so on. We are not going up with this bloke and, if we did, it would be embarrassing. We're stale and its time.
  13. I didn't say you did get angry, more contemptuous. If you get pleasure from slagging off your fellow supporters--carry on. I'll know not to read it.
  14. I didn't think that was a pen. The manager has gone over the top on this incident to deflect criticism from his side's failings. The guy threw himself when he's lost the ball.
  15. Agree with a lot of what you say but (!) *Elliott is the best player on the pitch * you've shown what a plethora of mid-fielders we have but look at the defence---Nyambe is probably on his way, Lenihan is injury-prone and gaff-prone, Kipre doesn't play for us and Bell is awful. Damning indictment of a manager who's into his 5th year with us. *We would be so open down that left side * Elliott, Dolan and Rothwell are all excellent but can't all be in the side
  16. The fewer posts they have, the more controversial they are. Its almost like they are trolling for a response......🙄
  17. Last time Davenport did well we didn't see him for weeks. Does TK give everyone a turn to keep the squad happy? Its possible that Davenport and Travis could be our midfield central pairing for years if the playing relationship were allowed to develop. i said "possible" because we haven't seen enough of Davenport yet so give it a go Tony.
  18. He's clumsy though and could give penalties away and his first touch is woeful.
  19. Anyone else think that if Mowbray goes it'll be Johnno?
  20. Anybody who didn't play Gallagher on the wing would do me, that's how desperate I am.
  21. Nobody defending him on here either is there?
  22. We need somebody to stand up in the middle of that defence. The cock-up between them which led to the Wednesday goal was laughable. You'd think they had never met.
