Average in EPL is apparently £60000 a week, I read somewhere.

Watching the Brentford Swansea games made me sob with frustration. We had a quality keeper and one with years to get even better. Made some superb saves over the two legs, including a pen and has really improved his distribution. Getting Brighton's 4th choice on loan, all for a measly £3m. Pathetic, Rovers.

No, I'm with Gav on this. Lousy captain but inspirational and brilliant player--a true all-rounder----brilliant fielder, good enough to open the bowling and gifted batsman. We've been lucky in recent years---Botham, Flintoff and now Stokes. Best all-rounder ever though----Garry Sobers

Yes, deducted from next season's total for an offence that occurred long before Wigan went into administration. What a crock!
-
But Sheffield Wednesday and Derby have had charges hanging over them regarding sale of stadium to owners for yonks. In Wednesday's case the hearing was November 2019 but no decision has ever been announced!! Suppose down the track it is and either Derby or Wednesday attract a 12 points deduction? Wigan will already have been relegated. But should it have been Wednesday? Could Wigan have a case? Heard all this in 5 Live a few minutes ago and it doesn't give me much faith in the people who run the EPL. What a mess.

Yes! That's, as far as I can see, the only source of hope with this transfer. Nothing in his history to say he's the answer. Let's hope he turns out to be another Samba!

Same report says we are about to lose a "young talent" to a southern club. https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-blackburn-rovers-set-to-sign-6ft4-defender-on-free-to-replace-adarabioyo/

Meanwhile......

I won't listen, that rat is not worth one moment of my time. Nobody's employing him so his agent's fixed him up with some publicity I guess. It won't work.....
-
Only Dack would command a fee of £10M but its not enough. Armstrong is a striker so a fee for him would be more than he's worth but £10m for him I can't see. There is an intelligent way to deal with Dack. Take him aside and remind him of the loyalty we've shown him and get him to sign a new contract with a trigger clause in it. If he comes back well from injury he'll get the move he maybe wants supposing its the right club from his point of view and Rovers get what he's worth. I'm not suggesting a fee, he'll want it as low as poss, we'll want it higher. Its a matter of negotiation. Whatever happens we cannot let his contract run down and somebody should be able to convince him of the unfairness of that. Now is there anyone at Ewood capable of doing this?

But 13 minutes ago you were arguing we didn't know what the budget was!

Dyche at Burnley is the outstanding example. Both David Moyes at Everton and Mark Hughes at Rovers who did wonders with comparatively little money to spend another. Both went on to manage bigger clubs and failed and never really recovered ie more money meant less success! Dyche is wise to stay where he is! I realise I've changed tack slightly but its an interesting discussion.

Bauer comes to mind......

You have written this so many times I've lost count. I don't mind him going for a decent fee so long as we had someone at least as good lined up. We didn't. Secondly you completely ignore why he felt it time to move on. Its not as if he just wanted a change of air. That he rated Brentford above us is a damning indictment of Rovers and its highly likely he was sick of being publicly humiliated by his manager who should have known better. That's only true of course if Mowbray wasn't deliberately provoking him to leave which is how it looks.
-
Yes what a brilliant piece of work that was. Undermines Tony it it happens (fingers crossed).
-
Then it would seem to be a very small one!
-
Well I do not believe we don't need new players and that doesn't follow at all from my post.
-
I didn't say that! You said that!
-
Surely that could be coached by someone else is what I mean.
-
That' s telling. Gone from Mark Hughes' hungry wolves to that.
-
Well, if he's too stubborn to change why shouldn't he be sacked?
-
Bell looks good going forward----quick and good control but there is rarely any end product. Surely that could be coached?
-
Not in any hurry is he?
-
I forecast we would finish 12th. We finished 11th! If Mowbray stays I'm quite confident in forecasting that that's where we will finish next season as well and so on forever till he's gone.

They will regret this forever if they don't get through the lottery that is the play-offs. Absolutely unbelievable.
