  1. Is one thing signing players, its another thing making them into a team. Time after time TM shows he's not very good at it. If he came out and said he will never play Gally or Brereton wide again it would be a start. Every time he does it, I think "we could have had a dangerous winger out there".
  2. We hear this every season too! We never hear about teams that were at or near the top after the early games and went down though!
  3. Well our strikers did cost so much money didn't they? Without being top though.
  4. He makes the same mistakes he's always made but somehow people expect different outcomes. Every season starts with great enthusiasm and every season ends the same. We have a potentially good side and given a fair run with injuries we should be up there pushing. If it doesn't work this time he's had it. By the way, do we have more injuries than everyone else or what?
  5. And yet we lost! Statistics eh? Can you really play well except where it really counts?
  6. A really interesting viewpoint regarding Shearer's injury in 1992-3: https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/blackburn-rovers-manchester-united-title-19136255
  7. Or alternatively you could actually read the thread before posting, at which point you'd have realised your post was unnecessary?
  8. and received an answer and responded to it! Quite why you turned up late I'm not sure.
  9. but I'm not late!
  10. This too is a familiar story.
  11. Now that has a familiar ring to it!
  12. How much do you know about Ewood Park? Do the EFL World Quiz! https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/snack-quiz/blackburn-rovers-quiz-are-these-10-facts-about-ewood-park-true-or-false/results/
  13. You're being kind, I am being thick!
  14. Is that a team of 13 players or am I being thick?
  15. This is the fear----that TM has , to his credit, assembled a squad that looks capable of challenging for promotion but may not be able to manage it so that it performs at its best. Like Bowyer in fact. The best managers are somehow capable of creating teams that are better than the sum of their individual parts. Brian Clough is probably the best example. Sir Alex is another. When they left, or any of their players were transferred, those players never seemed to perform at their previous level. And, the obverse, particularly with Clough, players they signed seemed quite ordinary till he got to work with them. I agree TM is a plodder who doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes. Its incredible to me that he can continue to play Gally or Brereton wide. In truth he shouldn't be playing them at all and we should have a big, brooding presence in that penalty area who can fend off defenders and get the ball down to his smaller forwards, or actually score with a header, or who can shoot on sight with power. £12M should have got us someone at least remotely like that. When we play it always looks like something is missing up front.
  16. Rothwell? Dolan? Edit--sorry forgot Rothwell is out. Perhaps you have a point!
  17. And my opinion seems to be official!!
  18. No-one expects the manager to have a 100% record but we expect £12M to be spent so much better than that. Especially when we are not exactly a rich club. Anyway, as I've said, he's done so much better with virtually no money I wouldn't blame them if the owners kept it that way.
  19. You mean he's won the right to keep making the same mistake?
  20. Lazy word is hate.
  21. They'll play a part because they will be picked! However it won't be anywhere near proportional to their transfer fees.
  22. If we had spent £12M on 2 decent strikers and then signed this lot we would be absolutely taking this league by storm wouldn't we?
  23. If only they had kept Sam and thrown £200M at it when we were 10th in the Premier League......
