They will on here though!!

Blackburn? You're not a Rovers fan then? Preston perhaps? 4 posts so far, 2 on this 2 on Brexit and all very provocative.
-
Fo me the Bauer saga said it all. Only centre-back we were linked with in 18 months and allowed to go to our near neighbours. And all that crap about how TM had told him he's have to fight for his place and so he sulked off to Preston! Who, by the way, don't seem to be doing too badly. A farce. All talk this one.
-
I agree---is this what we have been reduced to? Arguing over which of the 2 players is worse? With a decent defence we wouldn't be giving a thought to either of them.
-
Can't remember a time when we had fewer shots on goal. That's the point of the game isn't it? There were games over the weekend (and probably every weekend) where the game was decided by a goal-keeping error. We're never going to experience that luck because we are "retaining possession" in our own half! Old-fashioned am I?----you bet!

TM's policy has always been that we would improve at glacial speed over several years, getting gradually stronger until we had the squad to get promoted. Its a cruel hoax he's perpetrated. No other manager has never come out with that one before to my knowledge at our club. Most managers seize the moment when it comes, toss any plans away and go for it. Teams invariably surprise you, they come from nowhere to promotion, they don't have 4/5/7 Year plans. What's missing above all at Ewood is a sense of urgency. We need a manager who is only interested in success asap, who embraces the challenge and who challenges his players to be better than they thought they could be and buy in to his vision of success. Seriously when did Rovers "play our of their skins"? When did we last excite the fans? Its all too easy. too complacent, watching crowds shrink every season. We 've been out of the Premier league for nearly a decade now because we have never had a manager or owners who were up for the challenge. My favourite to do it would be Hughes but then we come up against the owners.

14th is not mid-table though. Bottom half is more accurate? Most expected we would at least progress.

A work in progress eh? 6 points off Top 6 now!! Blank sheets a distant memory. Emperor has no clothes.
-
It is absurd that Bowyer could put together the collection of players that he did and yet still not even make the play-offs.
-
4 with Armstrong? We have 5 strikers and only DG can be relied on! Its beyond pathetic.
-
What about the Cup games? Took his chances there I thought but back to the bench when the League games came round again. Ran Swansea, then a PL Club, ragged. Never saw Rhodes do that.
-
I was one of those criticising the then manager for not playing him. Were you? Or did you back everything Bowyer did till he was sacked?
-
He means he has to control a ball thumped at him, at height, on the wing, beat 2 defenders and get a cross in for someone who isn't there. Oh, and get back to defend when his cross is thumped up-field.
-
That's the spirit!
-
Really? Chapman and Rothwell cracking open the champagne as we speak!! Damo your day has come! (or is it a joke?)
-
A fixture I always dread.
-
Would you have it?
-
Worth pointing out that Burnley, from their lofty heights, are as obsessed with us as ever This. He more or less confirms it in his "work in progress" bullshit interview.
-
I'm not sure I'm entitled to be sure about anything anymore but I'm sure it was away. Possibly!

You're quite right, thinking about it, Hughes couldn't have been manager with Marker/ Atko in the side because Super Atko was sold to Wolves before Hughes joined us as a player. So I've ballsed up the time line alright but remembered the game alright! Getting old! Now where's that video? (And I still love Super Atko!)
-
Always under-rated. Anyone remember that game at White Hart lane in the season we finished 6th under Hughes? Our entire mid-field was out injured and the two central mid-fielders were Atko and that tough guy we signed from Plymouth (?). No-one gave us a chance. They absolutely ran Spurs ragged, we won 2-1 I think and I'll never forget that sweet through ball from Atko that led directly to our 2nd goal. Worthy of Duggie! I've got this on DVD, must try and find it, need to remember happier Rovers times at the moment to keep me going!

I don't think TM could cope with players of strong character. Some of the changes he makes in terms of selections, substitutions and positioning would not be meekly accepted by the likes of Keeley or Nelsen or Cole or Moran. They would have told him where to go-----and Mowbray would have been on his way. That's why we have a character-less side. Do as they're told and take the dosh.
-
So what do you think of him as a manager then? Brereton is obviously not the only example is he?
-
We are always X points off the Play-offs, it gets longer as the season progresses. Just like Bowyer---get close to Top 6 and we freeze. What Burnley did.
