I'm taking a risk here but I honestly don't think he will bw a success for Derby as a player. His career at Manu was over well before he left for Everton and he was a very ordinary player there and not worth his place. We're a while on from that now. I can't judge him on what he did in the States because I don't follow it but I don't recall anything special. Derby are one of those clubs who are always looking for a spectacular way out, much better to focus on a settled and balanced team that works hard imo.

I think we've all seen them given.

Strikers are always the most expensive and I suspect Venkys might think they deserved some sort of return for the £12 M already committed on Gallagher/Brereton. I like Gallagher, he has at least something about him to make me think he can improve. I'd like to see the defence strengthened first, we won't have Toison next season. How can we hope for success if we are inadequate at full-back, keeper and centre-back? Laughable.

We can't keep veering from "sack" to "stay" depending on individual results or even a run of 3 or 4. Is he the man to take us forward to promotion? IMO he is not, therefore we should be planning accordingly. We won't be, of course.

A lot of money spent for a Championship club and we're pretty much where we were when he joined us. That sums him up for me. Continuous drift. Never at any point have we seemed likely to even threaten Top 6.

How he has the goal to repeat that "defenders are coming" mantra, I do not know.

One of the most obvious features of this club over TM"s tenure is surely that we have spluttered to feeble defeats in the last few minutes----over and over again. The 2 recent examples you quote are so untypical of our performances. We have some good players but mismanaged so I think there is a good chance of relegation but its more likely that we will just about stay up. This is not progress and not what TM promised.

We beat the bottom club in the last few minutes. We were at home! We had 30+% possession--- at home. They had way more shots than we did. They've won one game all season, in September I think. Their goal difference is the worst in the division,-18! For God's sake, get some bloody perspective. Its fair enough to feel relief because we escaped. Its not a cause for dancing in the street is it?
