There's a difference between genuine appoaches for players and hamming it up to sell season tickets. How many genuine and realistic approaches have we made for defenders this Transfer Window? It will come back to bite us, I'm sure of that.

Mulgrew is injury prone though. And Linihen was out for a fair while early last season too. Also Mulgrew looked like he couldn't perform well enough at this level anymore and that's why TM dropped now. And he's not good in the air. He scores a few goals but that's not what he's wanted for. He should be the cover! The lack of cover in that vital area of the pitch, coupled with weakness at full-back is ludicrous. We are going to suffer more embarrassing and unnecessary defeats in my view. And I'm frustrated because I simply do not understand it. Its not as if we've had no money to spend is it?

In your dreams!!! However, if you're right I, for one, will be surprised and delighted. Doesn't change the fact that we never should have paid £7M for a striker we couldn't use last season when we had so many problems in defence and still do. And we couldn't fix it because we'd spent most of the budget on him! Personally, I hope he comes good, we sell him for £20 million and buy some bloody defenders!! As if that will happen eh? Doesn't matter how well he plays this season, we should not have bought him for £7M last season. Wrong player, wrong priority, wrong fee. We are not in the luxurious position of buying players for high fees to sit them on the shelf till they come good----hopefully. City ,United,Liverpool yes but not us. We have to get out of this league. Sheffield United did it without spending anything like that but they had a better manager than we do.
