  1. One of the poorest areas in the whole country. You'd have to be totally uninformed to believe tickets would sell in numbers at that price. Can only be an attempt to push people into a season ticket and people generally react badly to being pushed into anything. Waggot seems to forget this is entirely discretionary expenditure and there are many whose discretion is very limited. Most seeing this sort of price on offer would simply decide not to go. How does that help us?
  2. "here and now" and over 30.
  3. Ok that's the first time I've seen that. Seems a lot of time and publicity for someone he didn't think would make the first team.
  4. It's an improvement on 7M though!
  5. It wouldn't be a good window because once again it does not sufficiently address the core problem---the defence. Full-backs needed badly, if we were to sign 7 why aren't 2 of them full-backs? We are also in need of another striker---totally dependent on Graham not getting injured.
  6. If we sign a decent replacement for RAYA,what happened when/if that replacement is injured/ill? We then have to rely on Leutwiler for weeks /months. If Raya were No 2, as he should have been, that prospect wouldn't have been so bad. Instead, we're riding on a wing and a prayer.
  7. Some phenomenal reflex saves. However some ghastly blunders. The first will stay with him till he's declined with age, the second could be coached out.
  8. As far as I can make out, that's the majority view- that Raya shouldn't be No1 now. The more difficult question is ---should we have sold him? In an ideal world he should have been No 2 for a while, then stepped back up.
  9. Well if you prefer "we had 2 keepers last season and neither were good enough"! The point doesn't change....
  10. Mostly agree but ; Armstrong--would like to see him up-front, in the middle with Graham in a 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 before writing him off. Playing out of position. Davenport---came to us with some sort of reputation but we hardly saw him because of injury. Have to hope he's fully recovered and can play at his best----not on the wing though. Chapman--was almost our most exciting player when on-loan but never picked after we signed him! Curious. Like to see him on the left wing. Otherwise agree.
  11. Well we had 3 keepers last season NONE of whom was good enough. Whether a different coach could have got more out of them or whether they were innately incapable of improvement I don't know. Poor coaching has to be a possibility?
  12. Never can resist a mid-fielder can he? Like when the ice cream van comes round. Even though you know you're full up....
  13. To see how far we have fallen, I often think about when Phil Jones first came to prominence. It was obvious he was a star in the making but we were already covered at centre-back. So Jones filled in, very well too, as a defensive mid-fielder. Now we haven't even 2 recognised centre-backs for the Championship.
  14. Wouldn't mind that! Haven't followed his form over last season though. How was he? Better than we've got though.
  15. Have you ever posted about football?
  16. Saving my skin my arse. From what? Quite mild compare to your campaign against anyone who disagrees with you.I replied to you in a conciliatory manner but I won't bother again.
  17. That doesn't always work though. And its not meant to I think.
  18. LOL! I always put typo, it saves time! I could have put "thought better of it". It was meant as a joke but I realised after it didn't read like one!
  19. So we lose Raya and keep the coach!
  20. Well there's the hyperbole you requested Bob!
  21. Of course he got stick---after a bad game when he made a blunder or two, what's unusual about that? He also got praise for good saves he made as well. In fact I think the general or majority opinion about him was that he had improved in terms of judgement on crosses but that serious face injury set him back. I don't ever remember him being "public enemy #1". Its been said before but people often read what they wish to, and then react against that!
