I wouldn't swap him for Gueye.
-
I remember an earlier game at Ewood which Preston won. Tom Finney gave Matt Woods the hardest game he ever had. He was a genius that day.
-
When Ohashi received the ball for his second goal, he was way out on his own on the right wing with no Rovers player to pass to and three defenders and a keeper between him and goals. It did not look possible that he would score from that position but he did it-- with aplomb. Any of the great strikers would have been proud of that one. Add that he can shoot with either foot and you'd have to conclude that we have a real find here and I would definitely start him with Gueye. Gueye doen't look like he'll score many, though its early days yet, but he will provide the chances for others. What a relief its been this season to see difficult chances put away. Big contrast with last season when we wasted chance after chance and mad life so difficult for ourselves.

Siggy has something about him but Hedges has disappointed for me. I"ll always remember the goal he scored at QPR but that late late disaster of his at Preston still rankles. I don't think I'd keep him. The problem here is that we probably won't get any money for him. Dolan would attract attract a reasonable fee, . I think he's started the season well but he'll most likely leave for nothing as well. The most generous Club in Britain. -

This is a big issue for us given the Club's financial position. The article overeggs the pudding a bit but the need to find so many replacements, at the last minute and at a cost we can cover is an almighty task and surely holds us back? We ned to make decisions on who we want to keep earlier and make them happy to stay, rather than losing transfer fees every year. We really have cobbled the central defence together for example and at the end of the season we'll have to do it all over again. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/hedges-features-blackburn-rovers-players-will-leave-at-the-end-of-season/ -

Buckley's career seems to be over? I honestly thought he'd be a key player for us once. Being a bit obsessive? Does it matter? -

We paid £7m for Diaz who was hopeless initially, had one good season, was basically a one-trick pony (cut in from the left and curl it right-footed into the top corner). Finally ran his contract down and left us for nothing. Now we have Ohashi, signed for peanuts, looked good and scored from the off, good in the air, quick and can cut in from the left or the right and use either foot. A deadly finisher. Chalk and cheese. The only worry is that Venkys will expect spectacular alar results for little outlay every time now! They'll be having wet dreams about this bit of transfer business! -

Gotta love the LT! Who proof reads? Anyone? "Rovers' retirement team will be over the moon with the start their two major foreign imports have made." -

There was trouble occasionally. The worst I remember is v Liverpool where we met round about the halfway line on the Riverside. 1962? -

He did start those games but he didn't look himself did he? -

Isn't Rankin Costello simply not fully fit? Playing at his best he's almost first pick. He won't recover by keeping on struggling. -
It even goes bad in the Premier League. Keeper rolls it out, defenders try to find a way out as they are pressed. In the end a dodgy passbook to the keeper who's got to belt it upfield before the opposition nick it. He could have belted it upfield in the first place----more accurately as well. And that's a good outcome!
-
Well I've got problem with both. If he was to go, not my decision of course, I'd have preferred to get something nearer his true value. But we probably wouldn't have seen much of it anyway.
-
Yes we'll get something but nowhere near as much as Palace and we had him from the age of 6. But if you have no problem with that.....

Article says Liverpool and City monitoring Wharton"s progress. If so they'll have to pay a fortune. Dumb of both but not as dumb as us. https://esteemedkompany.com/2024/09/08/manchester-city-will-face-competition-to-sign-the-ideal-player-for-their-midfield/

Bit early for me!

I think Dolan coming on with half an hour to go could work really well for us. Phenomenal engine but little brain. Just when everyone else is tiring.....

I wonder how many clubs would have got so little for them? I suspect none. -
Spare a thought for Sunderland fans! Their last away match was at Plortsmouth and their next is Plymouth---a total journey of 1348 miles! Still, they're winning!
-
Dolan doesn't think fast enough does he?
-
You're not old enough ton have seen the greatest Cup-Tie of ail I'm guessing---Burnley v Rovers 1960, sixth round. You were coasting at 3-0 up and we came back to draw 3-3. Try convincing me that only the score line matters! And that honours were even. Burnley fans on that day trudged out of Turd Moor with even longer and more miserable faces than normal. They weren't saying, what a terrific, honourable draw! What they were saying is unprintable. By contrast we were dancing in the streets!
-
Not interested in possession. We had Mowbray for years so we know all about it. What did you do with it? Without a hopelessly incompetent set of officials you would have lost. Against 10 men for half an hour! The honours go to us, that's why we are celebrating and your lot aren't.
