He surely can't leave Reed out? He's currently our best player. I would be disappointed if TM chose a defensive side against a struggling Preston. Palmer,Rothwell and Rodwell are 3 of our most constructive players and should all feature.

Its a long-term passion ---like stamp-collecting!

No! Man never landed on the Moon! That was a CIA plot remember? The flag fluttering in the breeze (or not---can't remember) gave the game away!

A couple of points: What sort of Orwellian world do you want to live in? People do not need an "excuse" to watch a game or not and for you to be judging whether its "valid" or not is sickeningly arrogant. We are talking about people taking various factors into account when deciding how to spend their own money! Secondly have we any Rovers fans organisation willing or capable of representing the fans on this issue? Waggot may well believe after meeting with the Fans Forum that our fans aren't bothered by the surcharge or even support it.

Bloody hell Stuart, surely you haven't just noticed!

Saw Finney at Ewood in the early 60's. Preston won, or rather Finney won. Ran us ragged all day and made a monkey of Matt Woods, the only time I ever saw that happen. Sir Tom was their Duggie! Its funny but all those Lancs town clubs had one! Blackpool had Matthews, Bolton Lofthouse and Burnley had McIlroy. All 5 were superstars playing for local clubs.

As others have said the club could offer, say, a ten match ticket which allowed entry to any 10 games over the season. That would allow fans to attend weekend home games (or most of them) while missing mid-week games they can't get to. There are logistic problems with this suggestion, like which seats do you occupy but since the ground is never even nearly full, there's nothing that couldn't be solved. As it is, someone who can't make mid-week games is more likely to not buy a season ticket at all. Then they look at individual games and the cost and maybe the surcharge and then maybe the weather forecast and think "stuff it!". Then they get out of the habit. Flexible and innovative thinking is required to coax fans back to Ewood and we are not getting any. The attitude is "we've given you a good team, you're bloody ingrates for not turning up". Much like, "we've taken your seat away from you, now find somewhere else".

When you told me the Fans Forum doesn't represent the fans, you weren't joking were you?

A problem we won't encounter very often!

Good Park and Ride set-up at Walton- le-Dale cinema complex.

Or even not free transport given the parking issues.

He's speculating! Its what makes the MB go round!

Crowds are low, more incentives are needed. It worked before. No good saying its the fault of people who aren't going! We are talking about discretionary expenditure.

Well there is that Leeds fan demanding more money from the League!

I think Chaddy is too quick to write off Graham who has been a wonderful servant for the club. Trying too hard to justify TM's spectacular purchase imo. Poor do.

I hope you're messing about but profiting from other people's misery and you love it? really? For every Mercer there are dozens who should be feeding their families. Didn't have you down as a Thatcherite!

You must be quiet to the point of reticence about your wins then!

There is a plan. A financial one anyway, as a result of those 2 lots of auditors activities during the summer which, at least in part, recommended what sort of player we should go for to earn maximum return. Hence Ben Brereton. Whether promotion was discussed or not I have no idea. I suspect the plan didn't envisage home crowds of 12000 so we'll need another plan for that!
-
Chaddy doesn't do empathy rf99! Since Chaddy has a season ticket, promotional offers for individual games mean nothing to him. In his world, the answer to higher attendances is that more people should buy season tickets.

They obviously didn't have a clue about anything Den and were totally dependent on information from lying, self-serving wretches thousands of miles away. A recipe for disaster which duly occurred. Let's hope those "sunny uplands" are back within reach again eh?!
-
"you" being Venkys I assume Den? Sorry but its not obvious! (or I'm being thick!)

From memory most thought we'd finish halfway or, at any rate, avoid the drop. I honestly cannot recall anyone forecasting we would be relegated. So where you get "most said we would go down" from is beyond me.

Anyone read the puke-making comments after the article?
-
Isn't it more like anyone can apply? And "no" I wouldn't like to join but if I did join that would in no way resolve the problem. I would be applying to join a group which specifically says it does not represent the fans but only discusses issues which directly affect the fans!

Tammy Abraham was brilliant in creating that goal for Villa against Bolton eh? Wish we had nabbed him.
