  1. Well he's leaving it a bit late!
  2. Good to see Rovers are taking a leisurely approach as the Transfer window ticks on! . Very interesting post----thanks.
  3. The problem is that we seem to be committed to this deal. Must have spent a lot of time on it and we don't seem to have any other irons in the fire. If the deal does break down at the final hour we have left ourselves in dire straits and may not have time to get a suitable replacement Criminal if we knew we had this sort of money to spend at the start of the window. We can hardly beat Forest down for price, they know the predicament we are in and hold all the aces (bit like the EU!). We should never have put ourselves in this position.
  4. Its because we trust Mowbray!
  5. Didn't TM state that he wanted another keeper to keep Raya on his toes? What happened to that?
  6. Actually, they are both gambles but in a different way.
  7. Not all he flashed either!
  8. His agent obviously played a blinder at Sunderland! Jal----who is he?
  9. A 'black widow" at a guess!
  10. "Give the lad a chance, give him at least 10 games, give him till Christmas, he's got to get match-fit first!"----expect all these and more. Mowbray has earned the right to back his hunches so I'll wait and see. Same with Brereton if it happens. But this is not what I expected after all the statements about what sort of Transfer Window the fans could look forward to. It looks desperate tbh. Like we've run out of options.
  11. Bolton----surprise package of the Championship? I know its early days but bloody hell I'm astonished.
  12. I support every player who turns out in a Rovers shirt
  13. Diouf was a great buy but most importantly he was rarely injured.
  14. I've asked before but what's the nature of Davenport's injury and how long will he be out? Thanks in advance.
  15. I looked forward to this transfer window before the end of last season, when TM said he wanted to do the business early (in fact he wanted his squad in place for the Austrian tour), said he had 2 lists A and B depending on which division we were in, came back from meeting Venkys and said he was satisfied with the budget, has confirmed since that the budget never changed from that meeting, and said he was no great fan of loanees and wanted to sign permanents. He also stressed he wanted young, hungry players who would have a decent resale value. And the Chief Exec said the signings would be so exciting that we would sell another 1500 season tickets! Therefore we know know that his transfer budget was at least 10-11M quid, that he knew that for months and presumably could go down his list with serious intent. Yet here we are, as usual, scambling round, trying to sign sign players of no such distinction at the last minute on loan with an inadequate squad and significant shortages in key areas. How far from TM's stated objectives have we fallen? 2 questions-----what went wrong and whose to blame?
  16. The doubting or the peeping?!!
  17. No.it isn't correct, its another Biz invention! Good post, keep it up!
  18. And what did the Walker family get for a strong, regular top half Premier League team? And what would they get now? There is a God!
  19. But you wouldn't be cautious about spending 8M+ on a 19 year old who doesn't feature in Forest's first team, whom they want to get rid of and who nobody else seems interested in? Didn't he turn us down when we made the first offer as well? The only thing that gives me any belief in this deal having a good outcome is Dack. Can't believe we got him for so little. So hats off to TM, may be he'll pull another master stroke. But not to have doubts about this deal? NO---can't manage that!
  20. Saw him on a La Liga panel show recently. I didn't recognise him. He looked about a hundred years old!
  21. I trust Mowbray to do those things properly over which he has control. However transfer negotiations, contracts, wages and add-ons (there must be others) do not come within his job description. Its utterly simplistic to just say "trust Tony". If that's what you believe then he must be to blame if we don't sign anyone worthwhile.
  22. Nothing odd about wondering why, if Brereton has the world at his feet, no-one but ourselves are interested. And if you agree with KHod's quote, then follow it. End of conversation for my part.
  23. "Everyone on here wants Rovers to have the strongest possible squad in order to compete as much as we can, to suggest otherwise is just a bit mischievous IMO." Nice quote from KHod earlier in this thread. Suggest you read and digest.
