  1. Everybody is calm as far as I can see. Unusually mellow it seems to me.
  2. We haven't got months have we? That's why I was cheered when TM said he'd get the his transfer business done early. Hasn't worked out and, like others, I worry that its because Venkys won't fund him.
  3. So when he led us to believe he would get his transfer business over early, he didn't realise all that or he'd forgotten?
  4. Don't know if anyone has posted this, apologies if so but 3 ex-Rovers selected for this World Cup---Jones, Kalinc and N'Zonzi. Kalinic got sent home before it began unfortunately, N'Zonzi played in France's third game. Echoes of what we were.
  5. Samuel is "a confidence player" but he couldn't find his confidence in the team that finished second?!! However he will find his confidence playing in a higher division! I hope he does but it feels like clutching at straws to me.
  6. I'm one of those who pointed out weeks ago that TM stated he wanted the transfer business done early and he specifically talked about having the whole squad together in Austria. Since then, one signing and the Austrian trip has come round. Am I being a Knee-trembler or Nay-sayer when I say that I'm concerned that maybe, for one reason or another, we are failing to maintain the momentum we created last season?
  7. At least he didn't start with "Let me be absolutely clear...."! So, I prefer Vinjay to Theresa May but its a low bar!
  8. Perhaps an inverted winger is someone with a left foot who plays on the right or vice versa! If so, he'll fit right in.
  9. Always proud when a Rover plays for England.
  10. OK then, how about playing hundreds of games for your home town club, playing for England, helping to guide the under 23's to promotion AND scoring that last second,off-side goal against the Clarettes?
  11. Whingers, moaners,nay-sayers, enemies of the people etc!
  12. He's been a Rover for decades so its normal for a legend to thank the fans and say a bit about his future. No he doesn't have to but It would be appropriate.
  13. More and more clubs playing with just the lone striker. No room for Rhodes in that set-up.
  14. Loving Rovers like he does, I wouldn't have have expected him to leave voluntarily. You'd think he would put some sort of statement out.
  15. Venkys destroyed the existing management structure years ago and we have been winging it ever since. These sorts of announcements aren't as exciting as transfer news but they are just as significant, if not more so. All elements of the club have to pull together if we are to get anywhere
  16. The problem is rather "can you get the right sort of player for the funds?"
  17. Its outrageous! We made him into the failure he is and we should have the credit!!
  18. The world of football reporting/discussion is strewn with cliche as I'm sure you've noticed. Gross exaggeration has kicked off many a furore on here so I'll keep pointing it out.
  19. "as opposed to" ie that's what we usually do. I have no idea whether that will be the case this time round or not. But, if it is, it represents a step backwards given that 2 lists were drawn up weeks ago and TM has said he wants the transfer business done early. Can't quite follow why I'm being criticised for supporting the management's aims and intentions. I agree with him---don't you?
