I'd like to see what he would have done with England. Could have gone either way. We'll never know.

Season tickets 2023-24 - what could/should be offered ?
47er replied to damo100's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
There's been a rise in attendances this season caused by us being at or near the top for most of it----at least it seems that way, I haven't looked at the stats. And there's been a great following away all season so I'd have thought we'd a great chance to increase season ticket sales. If we don't, it'll be the pricing. -
Well we are in with a chance of reaching the play-offs with only one game to go. How many expected that at the start of the season? That is progress surely?
-
His all-round game isn't great though---I wouldn't sign him. Oh for a winger who can beat his man and then get a good cross in!
-
Those late games last season didn't matter though?
-
Its a journey Matty. It doesn't have a time-line or a destination. We're on it till we join the thousands who have already got off.
-
This is the maddening part. We haven't played badly at all in our last few matches and we've certainly matched our opponents in terms of effort. We just can't score that 2nd goal that leaves us breathing space. In the end that January window has cursed us and it was avoidable.

We could finish 5th or we could finish 13th! With 2 games to go! Amazing. PS---I haven't tabulated every fixture to see if that reckoning does work out, I just know we play Luton and Milwall and need to win them to be certain of play-offs!

Kiss of death!

And therein lies the difference! In addition to the £40M, relegated clubs usually get shedloads from sale of the players that leave when they are relegated. In reality, only one promotion place is left for the other 22 clubs, usually only 1 relegated club doesn't get back first time.

JRC's contract up in 2024. Let's not let him slip away.
-
We will most likely finish same as last year with similar points. However I don't feel that does justice to the season which has been the best since we went down more than a decade ago. I feel much more positive about next season than I felt a year ago. However I do worry about whether the admin's policy of driving spectators away will succeed.

Bloody hell! Hate to see what he'd be like if he supported us!

Bit churlish Gav?

Not a majority. Good to have feedback from another source than our own. Ignore the minority and keep posting!

1 terrific season in his entire time with us. Aided by penalties too, though he took a good one tbs. This season he's mostly been below par but could do well in a higher league where there are more good players around him.
-
We're in red card territory there aren't we? Ref couldn't claim to be unsighted!
-
I don't think either of them are good enough but I agree there were no target players to cross to.
-
Apparently you cannot do anything wrong if you're employed by Blackburn Rovers! We've been here before haven't we?

£5M down the drain there---hard-working but hasn't the talent. He'll play out his contract I'd predict. -

Played well in 3 successive games against good opponents but 2 goals and 2 points tell s the tale. A decent transfer window and we'd be on our way to the play-offs already. -
And you'd win it!

That's what I would do. Dack surely can't start a game like this, JRC plays midfield anyway and Brittain is quite capable. Bast we can do imo. Hedges low on confidence I'd imagine and Dolan has disappointed -

And if, as expected, we lose, let's just accept they are a rather better team than we are right now, partly because they had so much more money to spend. I have low expectations of this game. All I ask is that we leave the pitch knackered and not surrender like we did last time we played them. That was unacceptable. Given our final 3 fixtures its unlikely we will get into the play-offs so having low expectations helps to take away much of the pain. (Another part of me thinks we are owed some luck though!) -
Like a certain Norwegian winger we once had!
