  1. The last year wages were below 100% of turnover was the last year we were in the Premier League. Perhaps we should try to return there 🤔
  2. Ah, my back of a fag packet calculation has those 12 players (using the middle of those pay bands) taking up around two thirds of our turnover. - before bonuses. That leaves one third for the remaining (based on 23/24 accounts) 219 members of staff. Doable??
  3. Can it be explained to me how someone can use wages being above turnover as an excuse whilst also (within the last week) saying we should be offering our key players £16k a week to stay. Thank you in advance.
  4. You’re right regarding the lack of an age restriction so my apologies in this regard. It still won’t apply with Travis and Liverpool as annexe 5 includes the following neither of which are met in this case: If people ever get bored of our musings I’m more than happy to take it to DMs 😁
  5. A quick google suggests Travis left Liverpool at 17. If so they’d be due 2% of the fee. Edited to add @KentExile: On reflection I think this is a FIFA regulation so only applies to international transfers (and only if those take place before the end of the year the player turns 23). I’m off out now but I’ll double check later on… second edit (wife now impatiently standing by the door 😁😁): The EFL solidarity rule is a 5% levy on all transfers - this isn’t distributed to former clubs it goes into a pension pot for players (with any excess going into a youth fund).
  6. Positivity has to be based on reality otherwise it’s merely delusion.
  7. The disease that is the Venkys has many many symptoms.
  8. Whatever you do, don’t tell her that.
  9. Do they charge by the word? How much for three? Fuck Off Venkys
  10. Three shots on target over two league games but only one more player needed…
  11. It feels that way but surprisingly not. Last 5 full seasons we’ve conceded 17 against a league average of 18.
  12. In the past those last few minutes would have broken my heart, now my eyes just roll. Fuck off Venkys
  13. Thankfully for your neighbours it’s more likely Jackson has misused the term ‘board’ 😁
  14. I appreciate that, I was just pointing out that ‘director’ can mean different things to different people/organisations.
  15. Fingers crossed by the final whistle you’ll know the answer.
  16. From a regulatory point of few it says to ask ‘relevant questions’. I think asking if the captain is available for selection (and if not, why) would be relevant but ‘digging any deeper’ might not be. But, as you say, VI (or the press officer if we have one of those) could have covered this without the club’s preemption.
  17. I don’t think he qualifies now but not because he played last week. Having taken another look at the regs I’m even more certain of that: His current club is now in a lower band - the fact his last match (if he hadn’t played) would’ve been in a higher band doesn’t change the one his club are now in. I could be wrong - where I’m definitely right is with thinking things would be far simpler if the regulations made absolutely clear when the change of league quality takes place (re relegation/promotion). In terms of the exceptions panel, whether they’d agree that relegation counts as an ‘exceptional circumstance’ is anyone’s guess.
  18. Rovers’ directors ‘as seen by’ the EFL: https://www.efl.com/governance/owners-and-directors-test-public-register-of-directors/
  19. Our overall salary costs in 23/24 were 31.69% below the Championship average. If we use the median instead of the mean (to strip out the parachute clubs etc) our costs were 15.61% below the average. Clearly some of the difference could be number of employees/other employees but a large part of this will be attributable to the players’ wages.
