Not seen the U21s yet this season and i know they've had a few tough fixtures but they seem to be shipping a lot of goals this season. Are they now playing the same way as the first team ? Is this leading to being wide open at the back and creating our own problems needlessly at times in order to 'be brave on the ball' and is this impacting results this season. Or is it more down to being short of quality because most have stepped into the first team squad and there is now a void at that level ?

6k walk ups plus 5,700 visiting fans paying cat A prices for a Fri night live tv game is what keeps him in a job. Soon to be followed by about 3k walk ups and 7300 away fans so that'll be over 20k paying top whack in just 2 games. Now consider why he's now not arsed about turning walk ups into ST holders ? Everyone moans but he keeps getting away with it.

Not even giving him cameos when he's always selected for the bench and JDT clearly seeing Leonard as before him is not what you'd expect of a guy with scoring pedigree and given a 4 year contract. Unless he is perhaps on big appearance money and with us watching the pennies its got in the way, who'd be remotely surprised if that was the real issue here. I expect to see him get some action after the International break seeing as we are now in funds again.
-
Who did Plymouth replace him with ? Because it doesn't seem to have done them much harm and how come a club like that can find a goalscorer but we can't.

Ennis was handed a 4 year contract so that is a big financial commitment in itself even though he won't be on big wonga, hopefully. To do that then never use him is looking increasingly odd as time goes on.

Although battering these lot on their own patch was sweet a few seasons ago, we also battered them last season but the same old demons got the better of us. 6 months later and despite a changed team and playing just as well it's same old same old. Would be very nice indeed if they are still going well when we go there and we stick it up them and play a part in ruining a play off push. Tick tock.... -

Licking windows more like from what iv'e seen flying around from that lot, practically on the verge of an open top bus parade down Fishergate. Word of warning to noisy neighbours though, when you've won your cup final at Ewood it doesn't mean you are that good, just look at Burnley. All it means is you've beaten one of the youngest teams in this league. -

From 17th last season to 22nd this season in terms of wage bill according to various online platforms. Got to take into account though the number of young players from our own academy and others on their first pro contracts now in our squad. They won't be on as much as a lot of more established championship players in this league, probably like at your place. Also they've got rid of at least 60k pwk in the forms of Dack, BBD, Ayala and Kaminsky, before any new addition wages were added. -

It was the wage budget they cut again at short notice so i'm assuming that extra 15 percent that was initially available would have brought in another or 2 with a bit more experience. -
Leopold Wahlstedt. About Damn Time.

No they just lost the 7 million all the same though after one of similar value has been taken off them. Fools and their money eh. -

I think if we look at the signings of Tronsdat, Hill and Siggy i reckon it's fair to say if the budget wasn't cut there'd have been another couple of that ilk coming in. That would have made a big difference so far this season even if we didn't land a talisman forward. The rug was well and truly pulled and whatever the circumstances that cause them no other ownership in this league has shot itself in the foot and put landed its own obstacles in place to spoil real progress more than this one. -

It' pretty much what any manager will tell his team going out against one much younger, smaller and physically not big. Can't blame them for that and wasn't like Cookes Wigan teams who were sent out to main more experienced but still lightweight Rovers sides. A bit of presence upfront and a solid centre half or if Hyam was playing we at least come away with a point from that game. The fact we don't put quicker balls into the box and that we wilt badly in the last 10 of every game will continue to haunt us as much as most teams will try and bully us. They use of subs and in game management needs to vastly improve as well imo but iv'e been saying that for over a year now. -

We don't need to think we know, last seasons budget decreased at short notice in this summers window by 15% and we had to bring in 5 million in fees pronto. That isn't transfer kitty it was operating/wage budget. We were already on sell to buy before that. -

I think whilst we had probably the highest % of chances created but not converted pre game Preston had one of the lowest creating % but best conversions. No surprise at all it came to pass, who in our squad post BBD (on form) would ever pull one long punt down and lash it in like Browne did ? No one, great goal. -

That's the most annoying thing we aren't talking millions and millions needed at all. Hyam cost a couple of mill, Brittain even less, Tronsdat free but probably a standard championship wage, Hill probably a decent wage contribution. They ARE out there. -

First goal so so important with this lot but we did do all the hard work last night to get back into it before throwing it away again with an entirely preventable situation. If we'd gone in front i'm pretty sure we'd have won it but certain players continually seem to wilt badly in the final 15 mins. -

Aye and without a budget hes given Jon D the likes of Ennis and Tele who he clearly isn't impressed with but as far as Greg and the owners are concerned GB has ticked the boxes. Hes provided 2 youngish players for the development coach to improve and add value to. That's the fly in the ointment now. -

He'd have signed the necessary if he was allowed to and i think he has the ability to make us into a really top side he just doesn't have the backing. However i fully agree as just like Mowbray before him he has to be held accountable for the in game management, number of times hes made often needless subs at critical times that has swung the game right back to the opposition is no coincidence or bad luck. He's obviously a very good coach who has brought things onto the pitch that others we've had would never have been capable or driven enough to do. There is though more need to be put on the basic stuff particularly at both ends of the pitch, more urgent clearing, more urgent balls into the box. Those issues remain whoever he has on the pitch. -

They splashed out on 4 good young goal scorers/potential goalscorers in a short space of time in the forms of Dack, Arma, Gally, BBD. All that to the tune of around 16 million outlay but only profited from one who after deductions and initial fee delivered half that back. I don't think we'll ever see anything like that ever again as long as they are here now and boy will we pay for it, just imagine JDT being allowed to bring in a striker and a luxury player he has identified. We'd be blazing if he also added another experienced centre defender but alas no chance and Vs let the incompetents in the form of Waggot and the shadowman carry on riding the gravy train. When they have had the biggest hands in the mess of not maximising player trading income.
