I doubt he speaks to the owners it'll more like just be shadowman who he deals with, hence the prehistoric nature and speed of everything. Both on a real cushy little number. -

We'd definitely be a few points better off this season had the team, as we thought it would, been based around Tronsdat as the axis. That's no slight on Wharton but the way we play we need someone covering the defence in midfield. -

No idea how they allocate down there, whether it's in blocks or the choice is just 3k or 6k ? It is though plain dumb to assume 3k would be enough to satisfy demand for this but not in the least bit surprising Rovers would just take the easiest option offered. -
They need bigger exits instead of a drummer to cater for all those leaving early. iv'e seen many grumblings they can't get away fast enough.

Leeds v Hudds is more volatile potentially than any Rovers v PNE fixture yet they can manage to cut prices and fill up their stadiums. Neither is as desperate for bums on seats and fan re-engagement as we are either but they understand the impact ticket prices and tv have in keeping people away from popular fixtures. What a great advert for this area a 20k plus crowd and atmosphere to match would be and what better way to get people buying again in future. Sack the board !!!!

No real comparison as Hirst had pedigree a league below and re-found that the min he dropped back down. Would Vale start banging them in for some half decent team a league below ? Can't see it myself although i'm certainly not writing him off here. -
Idiotic pricing again but Preston are doing well so ripe for a fleecing. Another game perfect for some kind of offer to fill the place up a bit but instead they drive people into the pubs and armchairs again. How come we could do ticket deals with the likes of Bolton and Wigan in the Prem and accommodate 22 to 26k crowds but are terrified of the idea in the Championship ? Why ?

Vale played his part if a good few games last season doing the graft so i wouldn't call him lazy he was doing a job as instructed. Trouble is other times when he was asked to play as a forward he looked lost he didn't seem to know when to drop/press or get into dangerous areas. Just more of a manufactured forward rather than Leonard who seems to have that natural instinct. Makes me wonder if Vale would be better in a different position at Championship level. -

Probably because hes scored his goals at B level at his former club in front of no fans. Hope he isn't the new Joe Nuttall. -

Such was the way his career here was managed around his international commitments i often wondered if in fact they were making some kind of contribution to his contract. -

Can't agree on Garret or Wharton being better at the box to box stuff than Travis. Garret is still a bit too raw to be starting although should be a decent future replacement for Trav, Wharton i prefer further forward or as a traditional centre mid but he certainly isn't a box to box grafter, which we need in this system. Telalovic is miles off at the min so no point asking him to lead any lines and Ennis, well it would be nice but it would also be a surprise to see him start. -

Corry Evans was doing it here almost a decade ago although there was no such thing as a forward pass with him of course. I heard him described in a few different terms ! -
Not sure there is such a thing as 'low' financial risk at Rovers anymore. Everything is a risk and giving out a 4 year contract to Ennis is significant and some of those loan fees/wage contributions won't be cheap at all. Agree though i think he's done ok so far certainly no worse than the previous regime when you factor in the money thrown away on Brereton and short term deals for Downing x2 and Rodwell as well as Ayala's contract. Money we'll never get back.
-
Not sure what he can deliver if he gets told he needs to bring in 5-10 million and maybe suffer a further budget cut.

It's almost a given that everything at Rovers is contracted out to the cheapest providers, consultants etc. You get what you pay for. -
Isn't it in the Bury area and about 60/90 acres ? A bit more earthy than the Cheshire set but then they probably didn't know about that place. Imo they bought it simply because it was a famous Manure player selling it that's why it was an ego trip not long after the ego trip of buying the club. I did read somewhere that they kitted it out with gold taps etc then it stood empty for years. Be interesting if someone could fill in some of the blanks on this gaff, did or does anyone actually reside there and do they still own it etc.

The bank will be looking for some guarantee of covering the costs that's for sure but i think we'll muddle through this season ok. The coming summer and next season could be horrific though unless there is some kind of resolution. I worry for the academy site big time now if the taps are off, that would be the final death knell.
