  1. Modern young keepers are so lightweight they don't deal with situations like that correctly, if you had Robinson in the sticks or any number of others that ball gets commanded. Or he gets stopped in his tracks.
  2. Such a great miss that will be ! Yet to work out what actually is the purpose of that Remmy guy he's supposed to be a coach right ? Yet all he does is stand on the touchline hand in pockets watching the pre match warm up then sit hands in pockets in the dugout during the games.
  3. Football is a cruel beast and cheating is the lowest of the low but no wonder they got away with it that ref lost control of that game an hour before the useless inept fat little gimp. So disappointed after they all worked so hard and the 3 points would have been the biggest of the season. We looked so much better tonight starting with some zip with Wharton in the middle - anybody who picks Morton to start over him should be sacked on the spot he is 3 times the player. Still a young lad though so will tire and be inconsistent but not seen anyone control the middle with the ball like that since Dunn appeared on the scene. Felt a bit sorry for BBD tonight for the most part the effort is there but nothing at all is going right for him and like some of the others he's attempting to overcook everything when on the ball. Tomasson was on at him all second half which was pleasing to see But This brings me on to JDT the guys in game management and use of subs is now bordering on criminal he should be taken away from deciding those things. Some of it was forced of course but he made the wrong calls at the wrong times yet again, i can think of 3 or 4 games straight off hand he has totally handed the initiate to the opposition. Some we held on for but that stopped working a while ago. I struggle to think of one where hes turned the game around or helped kill it off, such a naive knee jerk operator at times. Final thought there cannot be another team in this league that gives the ball away is such good forward positions so many times in individual games as this one. That is the most costly aspect of our 'style', where the next win comes from iv'e no idea now.
  4. I hope loads of them have been buying tickets for recent games at Ewood only to soon realise they might as well have flushed that money down the bog.
  5. Surely that's the same at any modest sized club not full of day trippers ( or small clubs like Burnley half full of them ) it's just a generational thing. I get what you're saying about the younger ones v those of us who had a decade + of unbelievable success for a club like us but i'd like to think most have accepted that is long gone now probably forever. Imo those are the mostly the ones who don't go at all now or only turn up for the odd Oxford style game - balls to em. Think it's just a football thing though not unique to Rovers.
  6. That's the mentality i thought had changed under JDT especially looking at the cup games but sadly it's ingrained in this squad. He really needs to push it forwards in summer but without money he won't because the style of football he prefers needs quality. That's part of the reason it only works sporadically not just the inconsistency of the players.
  7. Pressure is off now we aren't hanging on we are back in the chasing pack where is exactly where our form of recent times has put us. Time to get back on the horse and show we really want it.
  8. The young thing is wearing thin now most of this lot were in the same position last season, we aren't the youngest squad in the league now and are midway in the top 8 of giving teens mins this season. We are probably one of the highest in home grown players which is great but quite a few have a lot of games under the belt now and most of our key players are experienced. Crowds at most grounds react to what they see on the pitch and as with earlier in the season JDTs style that hes reverted back to is frustrating. That transmits itself into the stands and back onto the pitch yet you watch other teams in the top 6 or around it now and they are getting the ball forward quicker, playing with urgency and purpose. The continental style and trying to score the perfect goal based on possession then 50 passes every time is not producing the results needed. When goals have come they've been often at the end of some spectacular moves but it doesn't happen enough we need to get the ball in the channels and in the box a bit quicker instead of constantly inviting pressure onti ourselves from the first min of games.
  9. The fact they've put him on an alcohol ban with a tag to monitor suggests there's a potential issue there.
  10. If he sends them out with that mindset we lose.
  11. Getting to a point where backroom staff just at first team level is almost as big as the squad which is quite ridiculous. A real wage drain in this stat obsessed business.
  12. Plenty empty seats at the New Den tonight it seems other clubs with limited fanbases, a glut of fixtures and live tv don't actually always sell out in the race for a top 6 finish. Who'd have thought.
  13. Emerging from the chasing pack is exciting but trying to hold onto the top 6 flailing around in almost identical fashion to last season is the opposite. Frustration, nerves and an air of inevitability about it. We need to score first and we need a performance of the standard of the Sheff U ones both league and cup. Where the hell has that attitude disappeared to ?
  14. Yep hopefully he starts with the striker problem that has plagued us forever in terms of non coming through. We had to spend 7 mill to find a young one then wait years for him to start paying it back so there'll still need to be regular money invested.
  15. Snapping up other clubs academy cast offs and loans will probably be this fellas remit.
  16. Lost count of the times iv'e read comments along the lines of it's ok with don't make the play offs because we aren't ready we'd have taken 8th or 9th at the start. Such defeatist weak mentality nonsense it's vital we bust a gut to finish as high as possible for any number of sane reasons. If we were spending decent budgets and clearly building to aim for automatics it would hold some weight. As it is it doesn't at all we need to grasp the opportunities we make for ourselves whilst they are there. It seems over a decade stagnating in this league hasn't registered in some places.
  17. Losing a certain amount through the books here they are quite comfortable with they wouldn't do it otherwise. Sadly the ever growing running costs and low income mean there is very little to actually invest but the team and coach also have a duty to serve something up to pull more punters in and sell more STs. The advert for that has been poor.
  18. The team should be going out there absolutely champing at the bit to get stuck in and win games for a top 6 finish but they don't look like that. WHY ?
  19. We could so use a win right now any old way it comes. Sadly i just see more of the same here we've completely reverted to type this isn't a new dawn it's still Mowbrays Rovers. Bitterly disappointed with what iv'e seen recently, cup game aside. Possession gets you midtable penetration gets you where you want to be so time to be bold. Do we or the gaffer have it in us ? Coventry 2 Rovers 0
  20. Exactly. It's a convenient veil to hide behind yet the man himself told us a few games ago hey we are up there so we have to try and grab it. Big decisions need to be made and the first one is benching that bloke he claims he comes from Chile.
  21. Just enough is enough . Same old crap go out there play the favs try not to lose. every other side with something to play for goes for it, Mowbrays Rovers.. sorry JDT's Rovers don't. Weak mindset = weak efforts and it all starts at the top. Having said that the very worst thing that could happen yesterday was that kick off time.
  22. It's never really been any different to ours and i wouldn't have them down as good travellers over here down the years. 1k+ is a very good effort tonight for them though and they are another club from a big catchment area who pricked fans interest again by doing a good ST deal. Rovers 1 Hull 1 Nervvvessss !
  23. Eastwood was a decent backup keeper but Robbo was on the slide i suppose but that was probably the last time.
  24. For want of a better description that's a bit of a car crash kit !
