  1. Can't say Gally doesn't give blood for the cause though, coughing it up the other week, pouring out of his hooter last week. His commitment levels will get him a few goals if nothing else does but sadly most of his in the thick of it is way outside the box. There's a Bolton version Kevin Davies in there if only someone could bring it out in him,.
  2. The double decker thing looked to have done ok to be honest, must've been a thousand in the DE half. Although essentially a buy one get one free rather than bundle. doubt the 99er will have similar take up.
  3. Probably insulted with the offer and being told it was that or nothing, sounds like one of the parties has blanked the other. I know where my money is, Ryan may or may not get a better team but i bet he finds it quite easy to get a good pay rise from what hes been on.
  4. Why does he look like a competent left back whenever i see him playing for Luton. Yet in all his time at Ewood he rarely looked like he had left league 1 ?
  5. We've often done well for support down in the smoke when things are going well so it isn't really a fair marker of cost/attendance in general. Day/weekend trippers, family outing down there, London branch plus other exiled fans plus it being the Cottage a quaint little famous old ground. I'd lay odds on if this was in the midlands or north east and ten quid less we wouldn't take that many. Still it's a great effort and i hope there's something to show for it.
  6. Yes seeing as we've been getting it in the neck all week for not taking thousands to Sheff U. Back to being glory hunters this week no doubt.
  7. I hope everyone calling it a free hit doesn't come on taking pot shots at team and manager if they approach it in that way. We should be going there with a point on the mind at least, lets make it an unpleasant afternoon for them.
  8. He's 21 he has a lot of strength to gain yet Hendry was wiry at that age and even Lenihen has only got to grips with the physical stuff in the last few years. Bags of potential this lad.
  9. No such thing as a free hit if you want progress but the other side of the coin most will be happy not to lose by more than 3 goals ! They've battered a few teams because they are good but really did a number on us because our style suited them. They pressed our inexperienced back line all night and played neat football in the space ahead of our midfield. A real lesson in how to dissect opposition. So for me i'd just go and pack the middle, dig in and try and grind something out.
  10. Still poor, as you say a ten grand a week very experienced player should be able to crack it with both feet in a position like that.
  11. Thought Johnson did a decent job although his miss was very poor but it seems Mowbray wanted him pushing on a bit more and trying to get in the box. So as mentioned he was cream crackered after 60 mins but yesterday was a good team performance. Everyone did their bit including Gallagher and the subs.
  12. Me going off previous evidence. Lets stay realistic.
  13. We will never ever spend millions on defenders again under this ownership model. Forget JPVH after this season there'll be another along next season or maybe our own Carter back. At some point the luck will run out with these borrowed center defenders.
  14. Think he got it right today as imo second half we looked to draw them out a bit more instead of penning them in with possession football. Maybe it was just them growing in confidence a bit but i'll give him the credit and say it was something mentioned at half time. Left Khadra and Dolan on for once when one or both often get hooked just when they are doing ok. Subs opened it up a bit and we should have killed it off. Break out the darjeeling and extra double drizzle cake tonight Tone you've earned it.
  15. That was inexcusable really but we'll let him off just this once as Dolan probably would've done the same. It's something that really needs ironing out when we are so desperate for goals.
  16. Are you the guy who drones on the microphone at Ewood now, get behind the lads......FFS! Decent turn out today all things considered and the crowd did well second half.
  17. He was crap. A rare ball dropped there by KD but at least he didn't try and shoehorn him in just to try and justify the signing.
  18. Great win and decent performance. Great credit for keep plugging away when it would have been easy to get nervous and frustrated. thought they did a good job of drawing them out a bit second half a creating a bit more space behind. Dolan is such a livewire it's good to see but he and a few others in that forward line need some serious coaching in the art of releasing passes quicker. Too many trying too much and being greedy we'd make it easier for ourselves to create if they got their passes off to teamates. Probably get tanked next week but hopefully a few more performances like this afterwards will keep us in the mix.
  19. I was quite pleased when they signed him for 3 mill rising to 5 i thought he had a lot to offer. Not that i would have signed him if the money was there as we desperately needed strength elsewhere. Still think he has plenty attributes but since hes been back we've probably played 3 different styles. He's been deployed mainly to do the same thing in every one of them, just gallop about wide right. Occasionally coming inside and losing the ball or making a good tackle. I think to do that job it really didn't need 5 million and 15 grand pwk (min) spending. It'd be unfair to say he hasn't contributed this season but we are back to square one again now.
  20. When he's been in the team because hes a workhorse and that's his job then as you say trying to get goals hasn't been a priority. Now it is the lad has no idea how to get himself where he should be regularly to get on the end of stuff and even less idea how to finish. He's just spent the last 3 years basically being like a defensive wide forward and presumably training that way everyday. Sadly though having a big rough center forward/target man/battering ram doesn't fit this fabled Mowbray 'footballing way'. The one millions of Sky viewers have seen not score one goal in the last 5 games and lose to ten men twice. The one that until this first half of the season has had us firmly going nowhere for several years.
  21. Wasn't the one win 17 or whatever it was some sort of unwanted record as well ? These spectacular fall aways he has at most clubs hes been at cannot all be coincidence or down to the type of club. For me he's not too bad in the transfer market but his biggest fault is not addressing glaring issues when he can due to over loyalty, to what he already has. That seems a very common theme with him.
  22. Is it only me who thinks Gallagher has got progressively worse football wise since hes been back here ? Never great but he's the shadow of the guy who was on loan here in a really poor side. Always works hard these days but they've literally just turned him into a workhorse. If they'd made him a battering ram up top from the get go instead of winger/wide striker i'm sure he'd be a lot better.
  23. We have a track record of just bringing bodies in....all through this ownership. What we need is the odd specialist or luxury player to compliment the hard work and youth of the team. Think Daniel Ayala but an up front version. Failing that even a lower league striker or journeyman who has form for finding the net. We aren't hunting for the next Shearer we just desperately needed someone to help out in the box. Not around it but actually in it !
