  1. Well I thoroughly enjoyed watching last night's game. We were really competitive which I feared we wouldn't be after the early PSV goal, early injury to Harrison Wood and our rock bottom league position. PSV are different class up front and could have had far more than the 5 they got but equally they could be got at at the back and we could have scored more than our 3. Cannot see any of last night's group pushing for first team starts soon but they played a lot of neat competitive football much of the time and the JDT philosophy was clearly on view. And the two mid teenagers- Michalski in goal and Tyjon- are exceptionally promising if they can develop from where they are. i guess both outfits were affected by international call ups. The PSV number 10 really caught the eye.
  2. Swag's interview convinced me that is what we were getting. Of course we could - they are common in North and South America. https://napaway.com/
  3. I am amazed Swag's bus doesn't come with lie flat seats and physio tables. Seriously
  4. Meeting all contractual obligations. Suggests Rovers generated funds are free to be used elsewhere.
  5. Big game for Leo tonight. All the best for him and for us!
  6. Rovers now one of six club's linked to Wimbledon's prolific Iraqi international striker Ali Al-Hamadi. Leeds apparently favourites in the race.
  7. Despite their thinnish squad, Spurs are contenders as are Villa if they get their injured players back in the second half of the season. Agreed, City have vulnerabilities- their summer trading hasn't worked perfectly but with Doku settling in, he could win the title on his own!
  8. Arsenal produced an exhibition against Seville last night. If Martinelli could find an Arsenal player with his final ball, it would have been at least 8. Dingles to the slaughter.
  9. I bet he is sick of catching practise in training...
  10. Why aren't we offering the full 7,000?
  11. 4 of the top 5 failed to win. Problem was the one which makes it uncompetitive won 6-1..
  12. JDT is superb. Huge credit to Broughton for landing him. Huge discredit to the club that he isn't being given the resources to do the job he was hired to do.
  13. All three results equal odds in my book. Likelihood of ending 11 v 11 not very high. Based on recent results for both sides, this could well be high scoring. People saying Wahlstedt is lacking in confidence have him wrong. He just makes wrong decisions when the ball is in the air...
  14. I watched Rovers TV in the first half and when the signal froze a Sky feed in the second half. The commentaries couldn't have been more different. Tronstad ran the first half and disappeared in the second but actually had the same involvement in both halves! It was also very clear the Sky boys have totally written Wahlstedt off as a useless flapper of a keeper. I think that is on the unfair side but he has to ally his positional sense to making the ball stick. ageoftherover contribution above is very much how I saw the game too.
  15. Did Waggott give any indication of what happens if this situation continues? If they cannot fund us which after five months of worsening news and no sign of resolution, at some point there has to be a firesale. Will that be of assets or of all of the club?
  16. Two worst defenses matched up. 0-0 draw That young winger Norwich has is very useful. Have to keep him quiet.
  17. Not on the slomo playback- Trav gets the ball so corner was a correct call
  18. According to an Everton mate, the dingles knocked it around nicely without threatening then got completely outclassed and ended up looking a total shambles last night. He called it a performance that loses a Manager his job...
  19. The wages were paid so it is academic for the next 30 days.
  20. VAR would have given both penalties. Gallagher arm was outstretched (unnatural) and in the slow mo replay he slaps the ball with his hand. I watched a Russian feed and they replayed the incident four times in play during the first half. In the second half, Cucarella shoves the Rovers player to make him miss his header. I had the Chelsea feed second half and the incident looked iffy in real time. It got replayed from a different angle a couple of minutes later and the Chelsea commentator just said "oh"... It was absolutely blatant.
  21. Notwithstanding Chelsea's 8 injuries, Pochetino put out a seriously strong side last night and there was a clear gulf in class between the two sides. Not entirely surprising considering the Chelsea squad has cost north of a billion and Rovers under 10 million- a mere 100 to 1 ratio. Our starting team last night had cost 2.5 million. That said, the difference on the football pitch was two gifted goals, two penalty decisions not given and Rovers not taking our chances when we made them. Could have been a very interesting night without those two mistakes- much as I like Wahlstedt, palming the ball to the Chelsea defender at the corner was a horror error and his premature release of the ball put Brittain into a nightmare situation which Callum should have gone Row Z with.
  22. Marseille v Lyon called off after Lyon coaches and team bus attacked. Lyon boss Grosso and assistant stretchered out with facial injuries
  23. They bought Rovers because of Balaji's relationship with Jerome Anderson and the other family members accepted the pitch without doing enough homework. A business that size which is serious about global reach wouldn't be so zero committed
  24. The great thing about Hill playing where he is, we can go 3 at the back without subbing anyone. He gives us another tall.player in a league where oppositions tiurn up with several.players well over 6ft and in Cardiff case sub off two big lads and bring on two even bigger lumps. Plus his long throws add basic variety to our more sophisticated play.
