  1. A friend's son who is a bobby has told me that the 'bubble' will possibly not be in operation for both games this season. Apparently plans were going ahead to use it but it has been pointed out that it's a breach of human rights. He said talks are on going. Has anybody else heard similar?
  2. I think there is a price cap in the PL and £30 springs to mind. The initiative from Reading would have effectively been a price cap but when only three clubs replied clearly the others who died want to carry on fleecing us.
  3. Reading prices are capped at £20 but only if there is a reciprocal agreement. I can't post the link but they wrote to every Championship club proposing this and as of when the article appeared (July this year) only three clubs had replied. I'm pleased to say we were one of them. I sincerely hope these extortionate prices are held in Waggotts memory bank and he charges similar when they come up here.
  4. Tickets for Sheffield United have been announced today. Adult prices are £33. Bizarrely under 18 tickets are £15.40
  5. With the signings yesterday it's clear that Tomasson has a way of playing and is bringing players in to suit that. The rotating of the front four and the intensity he wants them to play at will be reflected in his team selection. If he doesn't feel they can then they simply won't play in my opinion. Dack may well be collateral damage in this but that's football and things move and evolve quickly. There are no free rides any more and the holiday camp mentality has gone. Tomasson is serious will be ruthless in my view. It's what most of us have been crying out for some time.
  6. I looked at going on the train but aside from the cost it's a pig of a journey primarily because the train stops at nearly every station en route. It's also a five plus hour drive. Still it's our first 3 o'clock kick off there for some time which eases the day slightly. 😄😄
  7. It appears there are many like minded Rovers fans. I got mine today and was told we have only sold around 300.
  8. I'm going to see my Shop Steward about this. If it's not resolved we will be balloting for strike action. 😂😂
  9. There was something romantic about the Vetch Field with a prison on one side and an army barracks on the other 😃. Russell Martin, the massively diluted version of Guardiola will hopefully still try and play out from the back with inadequate players which will really suit the preferred Tomasson formation. I'll be hugely disappointed if we don't get at least a point.
  10. And therein lies the problem. Young stewards will just not confront anybody who is deliberately using the wrong season ticket and in fairness I don't blame them. It needs a group of senior stewards manning several turnstiles randomly and rooting out the perpetrators.
  11. I can't speak for others but at Lincoln he was off the pace in the hour he played. Tomasson demands a high energy game from his front players which I don't think Dack can deliver yet. Given that he missed a chunk of pre season and not much playing time he is clearly behind the others in terms of fitness and that bit of sharpness. I'm certainly not writing him off and believe he will offer something but not just yet.
  12. Welcome to our world my friend.
  13. I think the two points you mention are intrinsically linked.
  14. I would imagine that Jack Vale did pretty much everything Tomasson wanted from him given the way he wants to play. He pressed, was mobile and closed down from the front and on several occasions dropped deeper as Tomasson rotated his front players. He was naive on a couple of occasions and was out muscled a few times but in my view he can be pleased with his debut.
  15. We noticed that too but both teams substitutes only came out about ten minutes into the half time period. The QPR subs then went through some coordinated drills but Rovers subs just wellied balls about.
  16. I'd read about this but seeing it shows what a knob Tomlin is. I would expect the majority of football fans to applaud the referee who was making his EFL debut after moving from Scotland where he was an SPL referee. Hopefully that will set the standard for disciplining players who wantonly delay restarts.
  17. But only £1.39 for large fries 🍟 😉😂
  18. They have gone up I agree but I don't see other fast food outlets like McDonalds or Burger King putting up their prices by 25%. Sodexo has kicked off 2022 in a strong position after posting robust first quarter results. The international foodservice and facilities management provider said first quarter revenues rose 18.8% year-on-year to reach €5.3bn ($6bn), with business activity back up to 95% of pre-Covid levels.
  19. A 25% increase in the price of a couple of potatoes?
  20. A big disappointment yesterday was the price of chips which have gone up from £3.20 to £4. Somebody in the queue said pies were also £4. I know some will say don't buy them but for my granddaughter it's part of her match day experience. Do Rovers have any say in this or are Sodexho just allowed to profiteer at our expense?
  21. Dack can sulk all he wants but the realisation is that he has only played an hour at Lincoln and a BCD match at Brockhall in pre season. He missed a chunk of pre season training because of injury and I'd wager his stats reflect that. At Lincoln he just didn't look anywhere near fit enough for the game Tomasson wants to play. Over the next few weeks he can get some game time and improve his fitness. Until then, for me he has to be content with being on the bench.
  22. The scoreboard clock should stop at 45 and 90 minutes. Essentially it's to prevent controversy. If the fourth official indicates three minutes and a goal is scored after the scheduled three minutes there would be an out in the stadium (although the time indicated is a minimum). Although anybody can use their watches to time it but not many do (I always do pretty much out of habit).
  23. We noticed that Mike. It's a good job the team performed better. 😂😂
  24. My opening sentence was exactly how the job was advertised. A Casual Scoreboard Operator. 😂
  25. I know we advertised recently for a Casual Scoreboard Operator but this bloke today took it literally. He kept the clock going for the additional two minutes at the end of the first half which he shouldn't, was doing the same for the additional three at the end of the game but unfathomably stopped the clock on 92.14.
