The managers don't get a say in it. The referee decides and he is informed of the colours in advance and he makes the call. Last seasons at West Brom we wore our off white/light grey number and on a sunny day it was difficult to distinguish between us and the broad white stripes of West Brom. Clearly we couldn't have played in our first and third choice as it would have been even worse. It just takes some joined up thinking, something which has been in short supply for the last decade.

On the few occasions I saw him for Newcastle and Norwich he didn't appear to have kicked on and still looked like he had errors in him, albeit against a better quality opposition. In the five seasons since he left us he has played 66 league games, no doubt a chunk of them missed through injury but some were because he struggled for form. However it might come down to Hobsons Choice if the intended targets keep being missed.
-
He has a big, hard top though.

The notion of Hanley coming back is fanciful and I think tinged with sentiment. I remember him as an average player but headstrong and far too error prone. Why would he (or anybody) take a huge pay cut? Also what about Mowbrays footballing centre half philosophy? With Lenihan and Hanley together the ball would spend more time in the Riverside or JW Lower.

If Waggott earns the reported £300k per annum we will have to sell 1,000 at an average of £300 each just to pay for him. That is probably ten times the average yearly earnings of people he is expecting to pay more. He has some gall to prey on our loyalty by increasing season tickets whilst taking a huge amount of money. I can't think of one area of the club which has improved during his tenure, not one. In December he will have been here three years and taken the best part of a million quid out of the club. An expensive flop.

Are you Ian Holloway?????

But if the answers to your questions aren't satisfactory to you will you still buy one?

Will you buy a Season Ticket?

Thanks Ian. 'Twas a fanciful notion ?? -
Will you buy a Season Ticket?

I don't know if this is feasible Ian but a thought occurred to me today but I haven't a clue about how it would impact upon P&S or club finances. Could Venkys purchase a few thousand season tickets using their own money and perhaps donate them to various groups such a schools or youth organisations? Sorry to burden you with this but I get the impression you know your way around finance and regulations. -
I find some of your comments disingenuous to be honest. I am certainly negative about lots of things at the club and this price hike is one of them. Why should it just be accepted and we try and be 'supporters' as you patronisingly put it. I would have thought in your position as Chairman of the Rovers Trust you might have made some representation to Waggott and advising him how this would go down like a lead balloon. We do want the same thing but milking loyal supporters is not the answer. Waggott should've looking to increase the supporter base, with todays announcement it's much more likely to decrease it.
-
That is sad my friend but you really should write to Waggott to express your views. If there is a groundswell of opinion and he knows why he can't use the 'what more can we do' line.
-
What price loyalty? I know that lots of hard core, long time loyal supporters will buy one. I know because I am one but what really irks me is that Waggott also knows this and his duplicitous message tells me as much. If I shopped regularly at Sainsbury's and noticed that my weekly spend was rising way above the inflation rate I could go to Asda or another supermarket. Waggott knows that lots of us won't or can't do this in a football sense, our club is for life. However for many of the less dedicated it might be a different story and potentially they could be lost forever. I really see this as another nail in the coffin of Blackburn Rovers, far too many in the last decade.
-
Charlie Mulgrews wages/pay off will eat up a big proportion of season ticket money let alone the money on a price increase. Who answers for giving him a 3 year deal on big bucks and part way through decides he's not good enough? That is gambling on the future of our club.
-
Prices went up by around 18% for the 18/19 season and I envisage at least a 10% hike for the upcoming season. In what other industry would the loyalty of customers be preyed upon? The likes of Waggott don't pay to watch like we do, perhaps he and his cohorts should set an example and buy one.

One word - sycophancy ??

Like Ben Brereton.

He might as well, he's been false in every other position he has played. ???

During the 1998 World Cup the England players up for a daily media briefing decided to spice the interviews up by getting as many song titles in the interview as possible from a pre selected artist. I remember Shearer got Phil Collins and didn't arouse any suspicion neither did several other of the squad. They were rumbled when Southgate unfortunately drew Wham. When he was asked about the hotel his answer was "it's not exactly Club Tropicana here". Game over.

A good interview with Ridsdale who opens up on some topical things with some similarities to our club. Whilst I disagree with a lot of what he says at least he has answered some supporters concerns. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/preston-north-end-peter-ridsdale-18861646

Each time I watch one of these Ian the opening music makes me think it's an episode of The Sweeney. ?? -
I do don't need to chill out but thanks anyway. If you find something depressing then it's fair to say it depresses you. You used the word depressing which I found odd when it's used in the context of a message board and people's opinions. Not trying to cause arguments but stating what you said.
-
Ah so you are prepared to visit a depressing message board for transfer news that you could get from other social media that might not be as depressing for you.

Why on earth do you come on then?
