  1. I should be thinking what an amazing time to cheat the oppo out of a goal. But all I can think is Mowbray is a lucky bastard.
  2. Commentators clearly don’t watch rovers. Win lose or draw it’s shite. Talk us up to be some amazing side. Fake news.
  3. Is it wrong that I’m more interested in what you wineos are drinking this Friday than the match. 😂
  4. Instead of forging a relationship with a manager and then if they like said manager give him free reign to do and say what he likes. How about they forge a similar relationship with a ceo. Hopefully that ceo will convince them to have a functional board of directors, any manager then goes to the ceo with his plans and the ceo goes to the owners. As it should be. If they would like to speak to the manager personally then get THEIR arse on a plane so they can also see the state of their baby. * Even if they’d siphoned off a tiny bit of that £197 million to make sure the ground/pitch wasn’t in a sorry state. Nope. Not even done that. Nearly £200 million down the drain and the only thing that’s stayed to the same standard is the academy. The rest of the club from the team, to the manager, to the staff hierarchy, to the ground has gone to rat shit
  5. If they need to inject £7 million every 4 months that’s £21 million a season. Presumably transfers are on top of that. So it’s costing them £20-30 million a season. Two thoughts: 1 how does that compare to other clubs in the championship? 2 Mowbray must have one hell of a silver tongue to convince them he’s worth another season of mid table mediocrity. Surely they must want to see some return for £197 million. As it stands it’s cost them that much to take us from a mid table premiership club to a mid table championship club and alienate 50% of the customer base in the process. 👏 👏👏👏👏👏
  6. Great win. Before this game England were on an away winning streak that stretched back to 1914. That Jimmy over where in first 4 balls took 2 out and another umpires call on outside the line. Great stuff.
  7. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/andrew-flintoff-phil-neville-cricket-18101504.amp In terms of sporting all rounders someone called Max Woosnam played footy for Man City, chelski and England. He won Olympic gold and silver in tennis at the 1920 Olympics. Won a doubles title at Wimbledon. Captained the Davis cup team. Had a 147 break in snooker. Made a century at Lords. Then our own A. N. Hornby. Think he’s the only person to captain England for both rugby and cricket (captain of the side who lost to Australia which led to the ashes). Played for Lancashire. Plus arguably his greatest achievement turned out for Rovers a few times.
  8. Suppose it’s the difference between trying to win and trying to avoid defeat. The name of the game is winning the series to do that would have to risk defeat. If we were 1-0 up and this was the last game id be happy to watch us bat for 5 days not even trying to win. Would be some total. 😂
  9. When England went into bat ironically I thought I’d like a 420 lead. But was picturing it as a declaration and earlier in the day. Once Buttler was out I’d have stuck them in for the extra 6 or 7 overs. Wins in India are like hens teeth for England generally and anyone vs this Indian side. We have a great opportunity to win. Also I think going on means the draw is far more likely than the win/defeat. But if the Indians chase 400+ just got to tip your hat to that.
  10. Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka but not India. * There was a series to India during his reign but Freddy was captain due to injury.
  11. The analogy I like for the Venkys is a surgeon shooting you then performing surgery to save your life. Then even though the shooting has lead to life altering problems you’re supposed to be grateful for the surgeon saving your life.
  12. Should have added the caveat for a team with our soft underbelly.
