  1. Hopefully, he did show some flashes of ability in some of his sub apps.
  2. Butterworth is a frustrating one. Seems to have some ability but no idea what to do with it or have much willing to put in some graft. Injury prone as well. Unless he's had an attitude readjustment, can see him being binned off to the lower leagues. Don't think Magloire is up to the standard required. Don't know a lot about Vale to be honest, apart from unimpressive loan stints at Rochdale and Halifax.
  3. Nope, only player in so far has been that other lad that Preston didn't want.
  4. I mean, I'd be backing Boro to go up over us right now, for sure. Better promotion chances and more wages. No brainer for him.
  5. Yeah looks weird seeing him in a Boro kit. We need to get a couple of signings through the door sharpish really.
  6. QPR at home for us on the opening day Dingles away to Hudds Championship fixtures: Vincent Kompany's Burnley start at Huddersfield Town - BBC Sport
  7. Deal agreed according to SSN, medical this week. They always knew he'd be leaving tbf. Just depends on who his replacement is.
  8. Pope to Newcastle seems to be on the cards.
  9. Possibly but unlikely I think. The model they are trying to achieve is to buy players for low fees and sell them in a season or 2 for a lot more than we paid. Assume it's driven by stats/data etc. Twine probably falls into that category (ish), £4m isn't a massive amount for a transfer these days and you would hope at 22, he'd develop further and we'd be selling for more than we've paid down the line but I'd say it's still too much for us at this stage of the process. A BBD sale might have changed that but it looks like that would be coming too late.
  10. The chances of us investing heavily this summer are minimal, so Dolan will be needed in the squad you would think. Although I've said previously that I don't rate him that much, worth giving him a fresh start under the new regime. £3m, if it was to be invested back in could get a replacement but chances are, it won't be.
  11. I don't rate Dolan that much, although his workrate should go a long way in JDT's set up, if we are looking at a high press. He's done well at times but I find it hard to believe that Forest have a genuine interest in him.
  12. We won't be loaning Cantwell if he only has 12months left. At best it would be a loan with an obligation to buy in January but still doesn't seem worth it. If Norwich want shut of him they'll be selling him, even for a couple of mill. Makes no sense to loan for a smaller fee and let him walk away for free at the end of the season.
  13. Think he could have been a decent player for us but Mowbray obviously shunted him around a bit and he joined us going into one of the long death spirals. So up against it from the off.
  14. It's certainly not gone down well on twitter.
  15. Wonder if they are just hands off these days? They just left Mowbray to run his contract down, no intention of sacking him despite taking us on a horrific run at the end of the last 2 seasons. Wouldn't be surprised if they just have discussions about budgets and leave the rest to "implement their vision". Basically means JDT could be horrific and they wouldn't sack him, though.
  16. Where have you seen that? (Linky if you have one please 😇)
  17. That's quite an underachievement then. Let's hope he continues to do poorly in his immediate managerial career!
  18. It's an interesting question tbf. Obviously being biased, JDT is the better appointment! But Kompany strikes me as the sort of bloke with a driven, ambitious, winning mindset. He only retired from playing a couple of years ago and should have taken a hell of a lot away from his time working with Pep. On the face of it, seems like it should be a decent appointment. Can't profess to knowing much about Anderlecht and if two 3rd place finishes are anything to write home about?
  19. It's great to see, in the main, the club awash with positivity over this appointment. I wasn't totally sold on JDT getting the job previously, and of course the proof will be in the pudding BUT he come across really well in his interview and looks like he'll bring some passion and energy to the role. He needs to back that up with results obviously but he's well aware of that by the sounds of it. Taking the positive route on this and now really looking forward to the summer business and the start of the season. 🔵⚪
  20. Pete O'Rourke (although seems to be getting a lot of Rovers stuff wrong these days) Rothwell joining Bournemouth
  21. Yeah, you'd imagine he'll have his pick of Man City loans.
  22. Dingles saying the same thing. "Don't even know who that guy is?" "Everyone knows Kompany, had to Google your bloke"
  23. Sharpe seems to be under the impression he's signed for Boro, just waiting to announce it.
