  1. It wont be his last match, regardless of the score.
  2. To be fair, he had every right to respond as he did today. You shouldnt be asking a manager about insignificant things like results and league positions.
  3. Hes rattled, everyone (bar chaddy) wants him gone, hes spouting shit in the (already diluted) media to neither expose his own shortcomings or those above him. But he neednt be. Hes safe as houses because hes at a club whose issues are those who own and run it who will accept such poor standards.
  4. He did a really good job at Barnsley but Coyle also did a really good job at Burnley. Both have had careers with numerous clubs and otherwise have repeatedly struggled elsewhere which suggests that those spells where the exceptions to the rule. And its not even as if either came here off the back of those 2 good spells, where clubs could be forgiven for expecting them to repeat it. Both joined here with poor reputations, in positions where they would have little or more likely no chance of getting another job at this level, at times where things off the pitch have been particularly bad and weve got poor managers off the scrapheap to compound those issues.
  5. Gueye is one of the few players that could make our team even worse. Ohashi is very limited but Gueye does not offer more than him.
  6. Thats why I am not having this idea that its just bad luck and that "the data" suggests that things will start going our way at some point. If you repeatedly find yourself on the wrong side of these margins. You consider our patched up defence, our total absence of goalscorers, our lack of experience and our poor manager. Theres a reason we keep losing.
  7. You make alot of good points but is Gudjohnsen's hold up fantastic? He regularly loses the ball when its played up to him and both Stoke and Swansea scored from his inability to keep the ball.
  8. Ismael took over with them on 3 points from 6 games and having saved themselves at the death finishing 21st in the season prior. Even if Struber did lay some foundations, which dont seem evident from that, that is a hell of a season to finish 5th with Barnsley. Hes doing a terrible job here and got sacked within a year in his 2 previous Championship jobs. It seems weird to keep mentioning the one season where he did really well, if Barnsley fans dont rate him based on that then they must be bitter that he left. Did a remarkable job there but its an anomaly in his overall poor career.
  9. He isnt wrong on Gueye. He is a shocking player and not only that, when he comes on he displays a terrible attitude and demeanour suggesting that he feels hard done by not to play more despite him being so useless. But again, saying it in public is not the right move. And its not the first time. I dont see any character or resilience in this sorry set of players, but it will only further decrease that when the manager is so public.
  10. Gudjohnsen hasnt shown that he is reasonable outside the box. We have conceded 2 goals in his 4 starts and there have been other wasted opposition counter attacks as a direct result of his inability to hold the ball up.
  11. If that is considered a striker playing well then it just shows how low the standard has dropped.
  12. I dont have any, but I am not the one making weird claims specifically focusing on the one job where he actually had a massively successful spell there. How many people do you know that support Barnsley? Is it based on one or two, or loads? Either way, they clearly must be bitter that he left for "not rating him" because he did really well there. He finished 5th in the Championship with Barnsley. If they dont rate him specifically based off only that season then they are the ones who dont know anything about football. Ask fans of any of the clubs aside fron Barnsley and theyll think hes shit because he has done poor jobs everywhere else. I just cant get my head around why you keep going back to the one very good job he has done to try and prove he is a poor manager, when youve got numerous spells at other clubs were he has failed to go at. It would be like saying, Owen Coyle is rubbish, even ask Burnley fans.
  13. You keep saying that Barnsley fans dont rate him. How many Barnsley fans do you know that have told you this? He had an outstanding season there, any Barnsley fan who doesnt rate him based on finishing 5th with them is clearly bitter after he ditched them. It was clearly very much the exception to the rule in his managerial career, he has failed everywhere since and hes a poor manager. But I dont get why you keep saying this and then avoid questions about it.
  14. Alebiosu - good. Downgrade on Brittain and csn be clumsy but a Championship standard player and a good pick up De Neve - crap Tavares - cant even get on a bench that has 2 left backs, Forshaw and Montgomery on it McLoughlin - pretty poor. Can see why he never nailed down a central role at Hull Henriksson - crap Baradji - totally pointless Gudjohnsen - crap Miroshita - fallen out of favour Miller - pretty poor and certainly not a centre back TGH - pretty poor What an exciting window.
  15. Absolutely. They try. Neither would be particularly good in League 1 which is a worry ahead of next season.
  16. Ismael out yet? Gudjohnsen and De Neve are both massively short of quality.
  17. Definitely going down. An absolutely dreadful squad, worse than the one Coyle had. The vast majority of these new signings are woeful. And made to look worse by that absolute idiot in the dug out. Bizarre tactics and even more bizarre subs.
  18. Trying to get back into the clubs good books.
  19. I dont. I can just point out that it was an utterly bizarre decision rather than trying to justify it and even advocating repeating it had Miller not been fit.
  20. Absolutely, the main point is that for some reason, too much of the blame is diverted away from the issue in an illogical way. Its not down to Mowbray or indeed any other manager or director of football to demand more money, or to calm people down. His willingness to fly over and see them probably was the reason we even got what we did. Although they have plugged losses every year, that should never be confused with ambition or willingness to succeed. Losses are par for the course in the Championship, barring very occasional sales as we saw with Wharton. Offsetting those losses is something all owners have to do. There has been ONE summer where they have put up a decent amount of money. That was upon promotion and followed numerous summers of either minimal spend and/or considerable sales. Aside from that, our summers have occasionally been small net spends (the biggest being £4m for Tomasson), no spending or considerable profits made. The idea that the owners would have otherwise had numerous seasons of ambition led spending has grown legs over time and its unnecessarily letting the owners have blame deflected away from them into the wrong places.
  21. Why did he want to stick to 3 at the back? We were losing, under no circumstances and no matter how much you try to defend him (even suggesting repeating the tactic tomorrow when Miller seemed unlikely to play) did it make any sense to bring on a midfielder who isnt good enough in his own position into a position where he has never played before.
  22. The idea that Venkys were full of enthusiasm and Mowbray stopped them in their tracks really is a bit of a stretch based on the admittance that Mowbray didnt kick up a fuss for more money once budgets had been agreed. I doubt that most managers have actively asked Venkys for more money. Mowbray is just the one who said it publically. They had that one season where they invested £10m on what was a squad that had been decimated in the lead up to relegation. The problem is, the fact that they are obligated to cover losses each year (bar the freak Wharton sale) is for some reason confused by some as them pumping money in as if its to better the team. Why anyone would try and spin it to make them seem like the good guys is anyones guess.
  23. You have predicted that yearly for about 10 years to be fair.
  24. Mowbray wouldnt belong in the company of those 2. Or Bowyer. Not that he would be someone we should be re-apppointing either, to be clear.
