  1. In such situations, people usually say gave him a pre season. There is no sign that anything is coming together, that they know what they are supposed to be doing, that they can do what they are being asked or that they are even playing for him.
  2. I never even said that they should sack him. The idea of him just automatically being given the season is a ridiculous suggestion. Theyve spent big money, if they are languishing near the bottom then I suspect (although we dont know what these owners will do having never been in this situation) they will probably pull the trigger, especially considering the money spent. I wouldnt be surprised to see Parkinson underachieve, his track record at this level is poor. Different story when youve got by far the best/one of the 2 best squads in a poor division.
  3. Again, doesnt have to be either or. They need both.
  4. I never said that they should sack him. Not yet. But the idea that he just gets the season regardless of results is ludicrious. In the lower leagues (along with Birmingham in League 1) they had a budget that meant that they had a team far above the quality of the rest so it was quite an easy job. Different job here, they do have a good squad that they are putting together but there are lots of similarly strong teams. He shouldnt just get a season at it purely on goodwill. I would personally sack Potter because hes been at West Ham for a bit now and there have been no signs that he is the man for the job. Watford were also correct IMO to sack Cleverley or at least justified. Their form in the second half of the season was the worst in the league.
  5. The thing is, no one has actually had the bollocks to say exactly what Travis is meant to have done wrong. Has he refused to play? He happily played the West Brom game and was on the bench against Bradford. It just plants seeds which is enough to turn some fans against the departing players. You are still naively thinking that Travis is leaving purely out a strong desire to work for Eustace again. Had we offered a proper wage to him then I am sure that he would have stayed. There is too much of a pattern but the club clearly dont want us to focus on that. There is a reason why we havent got any players to sign a new deal in so long. The irony is that Gestede himself refused to play to engineer a move when here. Your refusal to comment on the minutes add to mine and many others assumptions that you are incredibly reluctant to criticise the club. You are also very big on communication. You dismiss the unprofessional method of using a anonymous twitter handle to do so, and refuse to comment entirely on Suhail and co literally amending minutes as to what was said with fans to try and make the club look better.
  6. And you wish relegation upon anyone who sacks an underperforming manager. I never said that he should be sacked now. But if they continue to underperform, then just blindly giving him the season is absolutely ridiculous. Obviously its not your club because you wanted Ismael out after 7 games.
  7. Its certainly not a perfect indicator as to how a player will do but its your best bet as to how the player has done to date. I have been criticised in the past for using it as a barometer. Reaction to Alebiousu from St Mirren fans was that he was excellent for them in his short time. Hull fans rated McLoughlin in the main. Kortrijk fans didnt rate De Neve at all and its hard to argue based on the very limited we have seen of all 3 that the first 2 wont be more successful than the latter. Hendriksson is perhaps an example of context too. GAIS fans loved him partly because of his personality but also he like basically all of our signings had been playing in a lesser league. He has looked off the pace so far but its very early days so hopefully he can adjust. I didnt really see any reaction to Baradji and Tavares but the news wasnt really picked up internationally and im guessing that neither club they came from is well supported.
  8. If you think that my issue with the accuracy of the account then you clearly havent been reading. Its someone inside the club hency why everything has been right. If you think that someone high up in the club posting transfer information through an ANONYMOUS faceless twitter account, whilst replying and dismissing supposed "doom merchants" and happily trying to paint leaving players in a bad light and the club in a good light. Is good communication, or is acceptable, or is professional. Then you really will swallow any old shit the club comes out with. You clearly are reluctant to criticise the club. Hence why you have read the minutes and havent said a word about what you thought.
  9. Seems like a fairly nomadic career has kicked on since he was played as a winger. I dont think he will be signing as anything but a winger. You mentioned Legia fans going mad @Paul Mani and I have seen similar. I have sometimes been criticised but its always a good indication IMO, whether it be good or bad. He seems very popular there. Reason I mention is that one person said that he is their only winger.
  10. Thank you. I think on the other one I used, it seems like its the Japan caps that perhaps werent up to date.
  11. So you think that if Gueye played a full season, he would score 18 goals ie double a Gallagher season? He played a lot of minutes last season and when he started we did noticeably worse. I would side with Gallagher out of the 2 but my point is that there isnt a big difference between the 2. One isnt miles better than the other. Both are poor. I also havent seen this large quantity of chances that Gueye has had and missed. Certainly doesnt happen in every game.
  12. Maybe Travis has let them down. But either way, my main point is about the total lack of professionalism that running a twitter account in that way. Its a pretty fair assumption based on how its being run and how every single tweet in terms of transfers has been correct.
  13. I put him in the GBE calculator and he didnt get nearly enough points. Although I suspect that is out of date.
  14. Regarding these permits. @MarkBRFC I will check with you as you mentioned that Baradji would still take a slot so I think you will know more than most. Loaning out Mafoumbi wouldnt have solved the problem initially because he would still be contracted with us. Would it not potentially work that Baradji is still contracted to Yverdon Sport? I suspect not and that he would indeed be taking our final spot. But worth an ask.
  15. Aside from that last season when he spent most of it injured, Gallagher tended to score around 9 goals a season. Still not many but more than Gueye. Neither is MILES better than the other, both are pretty poor. You say goal instinct and touch of a centre half, Gueye plays with that too. I know you nailed your colours to the mast by eulogising over Gueye after 20 minutes of a friendly but he is not good enough. He summed himself up yesterday when he lacked the intelligence to even try and stay onside before blazing his finish over.
  16. I suspect we could sign a 70 year old and because any balance has long gone with you and Gallagher, you would still take the 70 year old.
  17. To be fair, before he became so injury prone he was better than Gueye.
  18. He also said yesterday that Travis had let his team mates down. Just seems unnecessary, didnt have to say that. But as I said, its not what Ismael has said that doesnt sit right. That twitter account is clearly beyond just your average ITK. Its clearly someone on the inside that has got every single thing right that he/she has said. But is clearly either trying or is under instruction to try and make those leaving seem unreasonable/unprofessional to turn fans against then. Nothing to do with an agenda. Its not how a football club should be operating, posting things like that behind a cryptic twitter account. You look at Everton at the moment. Moyes has mentioned a potential leak of transfer info etc so is trying to flush it out. Any club would. This club is proactively leaking this info to make itself look as positive as it can despite shedding so many key players and being totally incapable of sorting new contracts.
  19. Privy will be lining that up as his next tweet.
  20. Those players will probably struggle to make match day squads once everyone is fit and may even leave when they inevitably sign more players this week.
  21. Travis certainly has. To have Ismael repeatedly calling him out in the press and worse still, to have someone internal hiding behind that anonymous privy twitter account tweeting about him (and Brittain) is just totally lacking class. He happily played against West Brom despite rumours and we know what this club is like. Still, attempts to make him seem the villain seem to have partly worked and some idiots will be ordering one more inflatable snake for the Derby game.
  22. When he went through, his attempts or lack of to remain offside were really poor.
  23. We badly need a striker. Regardless of sales, but I would happily let Gueye go. No excuse not to get one. We wanted one at the start of the summer, and nothing has happened to reduce that need.
  24. I wonder whether Wrexham get rid of Parkinson assuming results continue. Some of their signings are really good and they certainly have a very strong squad at this level. They keep conceding late on and also the choice to start Ward in net will keep costing them. Parkinson has proven before that he often struggles at this level, and although he has a very strong Championship squad likely to be strengthened further, one a good manager could really push on, they arent levels above most of the league like they have been in the past so it requires better management. That being said, its hard to read their owners. Theyve obviously transformed that club but I wonder if their achilles heel will be being too loyal.
